This bar has tons of cool DJ’s that come by. The crowd changes from night to night so sometimes it’s hit and miss but it’s a longtime fav of mine.

“Lively nightspot featuring eclectic tunes from house music to disco on a DJ–spun dance floor.”
“Commonwealth Bar & Stage is an old warehouse converted to a revelrous night destination in Calgary’s downtown that is the only venue to feature two distinct floors of sound and a vintage fashion-forward aesthetic - for the simple purpose of delivering a good time with good music. The Commonwealth concept grew from a passionate music background shared by the owners (acclaimed DJs and producers) and the need for a mid-sized nightclub that would introduce creativity and discerning music to the standard nightclub model. ”

“Fun pub in an historic building in the heart of downtown, right by the C-train station. In the summer it's amazing to spend the evening in their interior patio, removed from the street noise, but still enjoying the skyscrapers all around. Great food and drinks. Highly recommended menu item: deep fried pickles! In the basement they have concerts almost every night - check the website!”
“There are two ways to get to the Bow River walking and biking trails. If you want to go East for an "urban walk" toward downtown, Prince's Island and Stephen Avenue, then go North on 14 St, under the 9 Ave bridge and then over the Bow Trail bridge, then down on the right you'll see the paved pathways. If you want to go West for a "nature walk" to enjoy a natural area with forests and quiet riverbanks, head North on 16 St, cross to the north side of 10 Ave and turn West on 10th until you see a gateway through the fence where you can cross the railroad tracks. Keep going and you will see the paved pathways. The gateway is located across from 19th St before the big roadway overpasses.”
