Pulaski Heights Barbecue
Lovely neighborhood venue. We recommend the rack of ribs. When they run out of food it"s over - bring your own alcoholic beverage. Enjoy a lovely respite by the railroad tracks.
Located in the Boulevard area near downtown they offer pulled pork, chicken and beef brisket barbecue. Their sides include traditional southern offerings along with a few twists including kimchee and tofu. Their beef brisket and burnt ends is a favorite of our children. Located near the train…
This place is a bit of a huff, maybe 6 blocks from the Mure House but, well worth the walk and very well worth the drive. Great BBQ with a great selection of sides.
“This quintessentially Athens bookstore has a well curated collection and very warm and helpful staff. They pack a lot into a small space- you can really spend some time here. Often you can find signed copies of books from local authors and author events are held frequently.”
“One of the most unique children's stores I've ever seen. High end childrens clothing and gifts. Fun things for adults, too!”
Grocery or Supermarket
“Daily Groceries Co-op is proud to have served the Athens, Georgia, community for the past two decades. Over the years, we’ve grown from a small general store to a thriving community resource for good food and good ideas. Owned by our customers, the Co-op attracts a diverse group of people who share an interest in healthy food and investing in their local community. Daily Groceries opened its doors in 1992 in response to the closure of Bell’s Grocery Store, a small, centrally-located store that had served the downtown area and provided options for a wide variety of consumer needs.”
“This place has it all! The best coffee in town, great live music or comedy daily, and delicious brunch on the weekends!”
