I always take visitors to see the Tithe Barn either enroute or coming back from visiting the Uffington White Horse. It's generally very quiet with a donation box at the entrance - the size and space of the barn is something to be seen.

A truly impressive medieval tithe barn now maintained by the National Trust. Less than 5 miles from The Gatehouse. Good for picnics, views and a walk up the hill to the iron age fort at Badbury Woods (also National Trust).
