Outside, the verandah beckons with a braai and wood-fired hot tub, where you can unwind and solve the problems of the world while sipping on a sundowner and soaking in the breathtaking views.

Make some memories at this unique and family-friendly place. Very peaceful and relaxing with plenty of bird and marine life at your doorstep. A paddle in our double seated kayak is a must when the tide and weather conditions permit. Paddle a short distance across to the island or to the mouth of the lagoon and enjoy a picnic under one of our sun umbrellas. Have a dip in the mix of the fresh lagoon water and the Atlantic Ocean. In certain months of the year enjoy windsurfing at our door step too

The lodge has its own private parking area, outside area with hot tub, 3 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, open plan living room with breakfast bar and balcony.

Close to Grotto beach - main swimming beach- blue flag - Ocean view & indigenous birds, free canoe - explore lagoon. Although our unit is private there are 20 units in total. Hermanus CBD (approx 6km). MAIN FOCUS IS OUTDOOR SPACE. PS the lagoon sometimes undergoes an ecological change, mother nature busy with a natural fermentation process.

Featuring shared access to a lovely undercover outside patio with small splash pool, and lovely views, this cosy cabin is an ideal getaway if you need a dose of fresh air and peace! Explore our renosterbos conservancy with some antelope and zebra, play in the river, fish and explore til your little ones pass out from exhaustion of all the farm fun!

Oppiedam Family Cabins (Flamingo)

The cabin is situated right on the edge of the Bot River lagoon. Has a big garden and the views are fantastic! Within walking distance of the beach and close to communal pool and tennis courts. Cozy 2 bedroomed double-storey log cabin, with two bathrooms. Queen size bed, double bed and single bed on the mezzanine. The wild horses often graze in front of the cabin and at times there are hundreds of terns and flamingos! Fully equipped for self-catering.

The Barn Styled Pod

The Barn-styled Pod offers an elegant yet comfortable escape, ideal for families seeking a touch of luxury in a tranquil farm setting. The pod features two beautifully designed en-suite bedrooms and comfortably sleeps up to four guests. This is next to Gansbaai with its whale watching activities and Kleinbaai with shark cage diving. This Overberg settings allows you access to nearby De Kelders, Grootbos Nature Reserve and Stanford. The Overberg is well known for its nature experiences, many restaurants and experiences.
