This fun, intensive class and celebration will take you from beans’ origins through coffee’s various roles, from morning brews to evening cocktails. Along the way, you’ll gain professional techniques—and of course, you’ll get to taste as you learn.
• We’ll start with an introduction to the world of coffee, covering the plant’s journey from seed to green bean, and the differences between commercial and specialty coffee.
• Next, we’ll explore the art of roasting and how it affects coffee flavor. We’ll do a hands-on demonstration of different roasts, from light to dark.
• We’ll then dive into several specialties, one at a time: espresso, cappuccino, coffee-based cocktails, and filter coffee. We’ll taste, compare, and experiment as we go, pairing them with a selection of our handmade pastries.
You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of coffee and how it can make any part of your day a little more special.
