Healthy foods and coffee. If you're here in the spring or summer you can sit on their terras outside (people watching!). Best thing: it's only around 150 steps to this hotspot. It's often quite busy.

Italian resto. Owner and servers are all Italian, don't speak Dutch and are also (sorry guys) slow in serving your food. Service is not really good (although they're super super nice they're just forgetfull and slow) but the food is phenomenal. Also in summer they have a patio garden which is AWESOME. Out of the Haarlem wind (close to the sea so always windy) which makes this the perfect place to sit and sip vino untill late. Quite secluded so you will not find tourists here. Their website is also not one of the best :)

Southern American comfort food at its best. Don't expect a BBQ although they do serve good meat. This is more a lobster type of place but then very relaxed. Servers are super nice and prices are fine. Food is really good. I personally love their hamburger (nice and smokey) and Victor loves the brisket. They have live music often, check out their Facebook.

Haarlem's best beers come from "Jopen". It's an old church turned brewery turned bar. They still brew some small, special lots here but the big brewing is now moved to another facility. Instead, you can now drink the best beers of Haarlem in an old church. Try the "Mooie Nel IPA", I love it. It's a bit touristy for sure but still a lot of locals come here. Friday evening drinks are held here for locals for sure.

Frans Hals Museum is our lovely backdoor neighbour. If you're into art you will love it. They have an interactive exhibition as well (most of the times) which makes it fun for kids as well. Worlds biggest collection of Frans Hals paintings on display.
