A sweeping crescent of 30 Grade I Listed terrace houses is one of the greatest examples of Georgian architecture anywhere in the UK. The museum at Number 1 provides a great insight on how the Georgians lived 250 years ago.

The Herschel Museum of Astronomy is dedicated to the many achievements of the Herschels, who were distinguished astronomers as well as talented musicians. It was from this house, in New King Street, using a telescope of his own design that William Herschel discovered the planet Uranus in 1781.
The Holburne Museum is Bath’s oldest art museum founded in the late 19th century the Museum has now resides in a magnificent Grade I Georgian building in Sydney Gardens and positioned at the top of Great Pulteney Street. In 2011 it re-opened following a period of refurbishment with a new extension designed by the architect Eric Parry. The Museum is centred around Sir William Holburne’s collection of Italian and Dutch paintings, world-class collections of silver and Maiolica along with other ceramics. It houses an important collection of 18th and 19th century British paintings, with a particular emphasis on the art of Georgian Bath, by such artists as Thomas Gainsborough and Johan Zoffany.
