The Palacio Real is Madrid’s Royal Palace and is also the largest palace in Europe with over 2,800 rooms. It is the official residence of the Royal family; however it is only used for state ceremonies these days. The palace is open to the public but even just a walk around its grounds and courtyard is a great free thing to do in Madrid. The Royal Palace is a beautiful building to look at and once you have taken in this architectural splendor, check out the view from the side of courtyard.

The structure is well worth a visit for its wonderful Beaux Arts architecture – an extremely elegant French style characterized by conservative lines and impressive sculptural elements. Recommend seeing it both day and at night when it's lit up.

Its decor and ambience created a climate that provides an oasis for relaxation in the heart of Madrid. There is also a steam room with a source for warm tea. It's quite a nice and unique experience.!

We recommend getting a seat up close, but skip the dinner package. There are better options for food. Besides, trying dinner at a different restaurant allow you to see a new place.
