The coffee is strong and tasty. Service is good — vibe is sometimes "too cool" but it's worth it to grab a cup to drink in the small park just across the street.

Great French resto — service is awesome, and despite the classic French fare it's laid back enough to be yourself.

Sightseeing

The base of mount royal is great for wandering and people-watching. Walking, biking or driving to the top is worth it for the views — and for finding nature right in the middle of the city.

A very old-Europe feel within walking distance from downtown. The East side is more touristy, the West side (our preferred area) has more locals, great restaurants and cafes.

Called "the main", Saint-Laurent street is worth walking right from Prince Arthur all the way up to Little Italy (probably an hour's worth of strolling, longer if you're at a very leisurely pace). Featuring an array of wonderful cafes, restaurants and shops. Bypass the chains for the places you can only find in Montreal.

Parks & Nature

Good for a jog or a stroll (especially around the pond) — Lafontaine also has a couple of kids parks right in its center.
