Sightseeing

The Waimate White Horse Monument is a must-do while staying! Either pop on your walking shoes and stretch your legs walking the trail (starting & finishing right behind Te Kiteroa Lodge) or if you prefer you can drive to the lookout point at the top of the hill via Centrewood Park Road.

Just outside your front door Point Bush Ecosanctuary has several excellent walking and Mountain Biking trails you can follow. The White Horse Walkway (hiking only) is the most direct route to the top of the hill lookout. The White Horse Big Easy trail is well loved by both bike riders and walkers. This trail follows and longer, gentle incline from the end of Point Bush Road to the top of the White Horse monument and lookout point.
