Food scene

Exceptional restaurant that's a few minute's walk away and renowned in the area. There's a very good value Menu Du Jour and the evening taster menu is particularly special. Also good for a late afternoon drink.

Check out this amazing Asian fusion restaurant in Chamonix...with 'Le Shack' next door: one of Chamonix's top spots for 2022. Excellent food yet very chilled and laid back vibe.

A hidden gem right under the glacier du Bossons that, in our opinion, does the best fondue in the area. You can also catch a cute lift up over the glacier from here.

Sightseeing

A gorgeous lake that's ideal for swimming, paddle boarding and sunbathing. There's lots of parking but it's very popular in the summer, so better to get there before 12.00 if you want to get a parking place. There's inflatable attractions, tree top adventures and more – our friends went almost every day with their children the last time they were here.

Wonderful place for a day trip. Either directly to the town or to Talloires, our favorite lake spot.

Maybe less we’ll known that Chamonix’s main attractions but just a 10 minute drive away. A spectacular day out with hiking too. A new tram has just been installed for 2023.

This place is absolutely brilliant for a full day out with the kids. We've only just discovered it. There's a gorgeous lake, donkey rides, tree-top adventures, tennis courts, a very good restaurant...the list goes on. Unlike Lac de Passy which can get very busy, this place is always much more peaceful as it's not directly accessible from the motorway. Don't miss it!
