In 2013, inspired by the spirit of Houston, we began brewing beer in a dome-like warehouse in East Downtown. Exploring styles from across the beer world, we offer something tasty for everyone. In 2018, 8th Wonder Distillery was born across the street from the brewery offering a variety of artisanal spirits and delicious cocktails.

Sightseeing

The 10-acre Emancipation Park was purchased by four former slaves in 1872 and served as a location to celebrate Juneteenth, the date in 1865 that marked the emancipation of African Americans in Texas. The new Emancipation Park is designed as an inter-woven tapestry of buildings and landscape celebrating the park's rich history and embracing the present and future of its community. Guests can enjoy refurbished landscapes, playgrounds, renovation of the two historic buildings and the addition of a new building and plaza. The old recreation center is now a beautiful Community Center and the Poole House was recently renovated and expanded as well.

Project Row Houses occupies a significant footprint in Houston’s Historic Third Ward, one of the city’s oldest African-American neighborhoods. The site encompasses five city blocks and houses 39 structures that serve as home base to a variety of community enriching initiatives, art programs, and neighborhood development activities. PRH programs touch the lives of under resourced neighbors, young single mothers with the ambition of a better life for themselves and their children, small enterprises with the drive to take their businesses to the next level, and artists interested in using their talents to understand and enrich the lives of others. Although PRH’s African-American roots are planted deeply in Third Ward, the work of PRH extends far beyond the borders of a neighborhood in transition. The Project Row Houses model for art and social engagement applies not only to Houston, but also to diverse communities around the world
