Food scene

Try the dried miso sashimi and the tuna chip. They're well-known for their miso cod, but you can skip the entree and just get a miso cod taco. Make reservations ahead of time or order takeout online and eat in the Treehouse, looking out the window!

Try the shiso tuna and the poke bowl! Really good fresh fish - less expensive than Matsuhisa, but a great local choice. Reservations required! They only have a few tables. If you can't get a table, order takeout and eat in the Treehouse or at a picnic table outdoors.

Delicious pastries, coffee (they even have a bullet coffee). Lines can be long but it's worth it. Right on Solaris plaza - the perfect place to get hot cocoa after/during/before ice skating.

Transportation

You will NOT need a car here! Consider getting a ride from the airport or elsewhere on a shuttle. It’s so worth it to have someone else drive. Especially when the roads are snowy - the last way you want to start your vacation is behind the wheel on a white knuckle drive.

Vail fountains

Don’t be surprised to see kids in soaking wet clothes, playing in the Village fountains (especially the one near Mountain Standard). Pro tip: get your kids in their swimsuits before you head to the fountains - and bring a towel!
