Arpoador is a small peninsula located between Copacabana and Ipanema. On its right side there is the Arpoador stone that separates Arpoador from Ipanema beach. It's one of our favorite beach points! And it is possible to go to the beach after 8pm because there's a special lightning. Check the breaking waves on the left side and on Ipanema's side, you'll have a breathtaking view on the sunset.
It's considered special as during the midsummer you are able to enjoy the sun setting over the sea (a rare event in the Brazilian coast) right next to the Two Brothers hill.

It's one of our favorite beach points! And it is possible to go to the beach after 8pm because there's a special lightning. This beautiful park lies at the base of Floresta da Tijuca, about 1km from Jardim Botânico. It has English-style gardens, little lakes, and a mansion that houses the Escola de Artes Visuais (School of Visual Arts), which hosts free art exhibitions and occasional performances. The park is a tranquil place and the cafe here offers a fine setting for a coffee or a meal.
Native Atlantic rainforest surrounds Parque Lage, and you can sometimes see monkeys and toucans among the foliage. This is the starting point for challenging hikes up Corcovado.
