The Buffalo National River is located within an hour of Elkins ( https://buffaloriver.org) This is a great time of year to get on the Buffalo River Trail. The trail parallels the river and has a great view of the bluffs. Elk are also close to the trail You can lunch at the Low Gap café. It will not disappoint.

There is also a world class museum in NWA. Check out Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville it is worth a visit. They also have a cool light show during the holidays. https://crystalbridges.org. Bentonville also features a lot of great restaurants to try after a day at the museum.
