Outdoor Activities
If you are coming to Arizona, why not spend some time outside! I've listed a few items that may be open depending on the time of year. There are of course many more things to do here as well...
A great way to spend a few hours on the weekend in the middle of summer! You can rent tubes there and take the bus to and from the river or you can use your own tubes and drive yourself. If you drive yourself you will need a Tonto Park parking pass. You can pick this up at nearby gas stations and at a few Walmart’s.
There are 2 river lengths to float. The shorter one is 2-3 hours, the longer one is 3-4 hours. The only difference is your starting point.
Bring a cooler with water/soda and snacks to munch on while you float! Just remember, no glass! Most people have an extra float just for their cooler and food then tie all the tubes together with rope.
You may get hit with marshmallows while floating along but you can pick them up out of the water and throw them back at others.
Be sure to wear water shoes and don’t forget the sunscreen! You may also want to bring a waterproof blue-tooth speaker for music while you relax.
