Food scene

Eduardo and Olivia are wonderful restaurateurs. He loves to cook and often you can hear him in the kitchen singing. This love of cooking shines in his food! Highly recommend their fajitas and their margaritas!

If you are craving Thai food this is one of the BEST! I highly recommend their curry - Sedona Heat Wave. They have another restaurant in Oak Creek Village in the Bell Rock Plaza.

Neighborhoods

Beaver Creek is a historical community founded on the hard work of farmers and ranchers who homesteaded for the rich water supply. It was a made popular in the 40's because of the famous dude ranches who could fly their guests into the oldest airport in Arizona. Later developments brought in a golf course and retirement homes. Beaver Creek has maintained its rural lifestyle, dark skies and quiet neighborhoods. Its central location allows you to visit all the best destinations most within 30 minutes of the house. There is plenty to see and do right around the community. My home is about 50 yards from Beaver Creek, half a mile from Lake Montezuma and less than 300 yards from Sycamore park so it’s a short walk through the quiet and peaceful neighborhood to park. There you can have a picnic, play on the swings, splash in the lovely water of Beaver Creek or continue your walk through the neighborhood. If you like to hike there are several great trails close by for every ability level, the Montezuma Well Overlook trail is a 3 mile hike that winds its way through natural desert landscape until you are perched on top of an amazing limestone cliff looking over the greenbelt of beaver creek with an interesting view of the backside of Montezuma's well. There are state parks and national monuments galore. Ancient indigenous people also called this place home and you can learn more at Montezuma Well (free) which is just 3 miles from the house, Montezuma’s Castle 9 miles ($10.00 per car), Tuzigoot ruins 17 miles, or see their ancient calendars at the V bar V petroglyph panel just 3.3 miles. These are very interesting and beautiful places to visit. You are 5.2 miles away from Cliff Castle Casino for gambling and night life, only 29 miles to see stunning Sedona. Climb the hill to Jerome, once a booming mining town turned ghost town, to a now thriving tourist destination 20 miles. The Grand Canyon is around a 3-hour drive and can be enjoyed in just one day. Check out my guidebook for local eatery and other recommendations! Getting around: There is no public transit within Lake Montezuma. You will need your own vehicle to explore. Since cell service is not always reliable (Verizon works most of the time) you can get good reception by just driving half a mile back down the road to a higher level and the reception will come through. BUT we do have great WIFI!!!
