Fun Places to Go

This Casino is small enough to enjoy yourself but large enough to give you that "Las Vegas" feel. They closed down for a brief period to update their facility to make it Covid19 friendly. It is clean and employees are friendly. Only 1 exit up from our location. I have not been inside since the reopening however, they used to have a kid zone for kids and a bowling alley.

The Old Corral is a historic location. Passed through many owners it still stands as a local watering hole. It's very casual and has live music on some Friday nights. This place is either hopping or dead as a doornail. I recommend stopping by in the daytime to find out if there is music. Pool tournaments are held here. They did close down during the pandemic to do some modifications and cleaning.

Small and cozy with a larger outdoor space with firepit in the winter. This place brews their own beer and you can sit and talk to the brewers as they move about checking the brew right there in front of you. Sometimes they have open mic night and sometimes it's just a friendly place to go. Beer and Wine only, no food but super nice folks and it's hidden away so it's not over crowded.

Go see Jim at Beaver Creek Trader and take your discount card provided in the camper. He has the most diverse collection of artifacts. A true "picker" Jim and his buddies are friendly and ready to haggle. If you're looking for Crystals on your visit or some antiques you can't beat his prices. I shop there on the regular always looking for that new something he's found along the way. Don't see a price on something? Make him an offer! Be sure and check out his nine hundred dollar Amethyst!!

The food here is over the top delicious. Top it off with a "Moscow Mule" to drink and you will have had the best burger around. It sits at the top of the hill in Jerome and has outdoor seating. Mid range pricing but totally worth every penny!

This place has the VERY BEST, homemade biscuits, cornbread, beans, slaw, and pie I've ever had!! We highly recommend Babes!! It's about a 15 minute drive from our place to theirs. If you like BBQ you will love Babes. The prices are reasonable and the amount of food served is ample. Get a taste of the west with the decor inside and you get excellent service to boot! If you have an issue, no problem Babe is on hand daily. They close early 7 p.m. so be sure and schedule your time wisely. You'll be glad you did!

Dining at JT's was a fun little adventure. The service was excellent and the food was pretty darn good. They serve breakfast all day so if you have to sleep off the night before's adventure you can still get some breakfast. Prices are reasonable and atmosphere is casual. They offer a full bar as well.

Sightseeing

Free-A quiet peaceful place to just walk and enjoy nature. It's small so you can enjoy a short walk without being on a desert hike. 8 ponds with fish, ducks, a resident Blue Heron. Many other birds flock to this area on a seasonal rotation. Education boards available with descriptions. We've seen at least 7 different species of birds including Black Hawks. Picnic tables available. Easy walking.

Oak Creek Canyon is a scenic drive that goes from Sedona to Flagstaff. Finding a place to pull over and enjoy the water is a bit more difficult but the drive is a beautiful way to escape the heat of the day.

Bring Water Socks & Water Bottles

If you plan on doing any hiking in any area where there is water you are going to want to go in! So bring your water shoes/water socks with you when you go. Be sure and bring a water bottle as many places do not have water readily available for drinking so you want to bring your own. Our camper has a filter on the incoming water line so you can fill up before you head out!

Don't Forget Your Backpack & Camera & Great Walking Shoes

There are so many scenic hiking trails! You will want to have sunscreen (complimentary with your stay), a water bottle, and water shoes, you'll need your backpack to carry it so your hands can be free to take photo's! Shopping can take hours in Tlaquepaque so be sure and wear your walking shoes.
