The Royal Pavilion is a Grade I listed former royal residence. Beginning in 1787, it was built in three stages as a seaside retreat for George, Prince of Wales, who became the Prince Regent in 1811.

On a clear day, this is worth the entry fee. You get an amazing vantage point over 100 metres up in the air above Brighton. You can see the rooftops of Brighton which are fast becoming a canvas for artists as well as views of the South Downs and along the coast.
