Bars & Nightlife
This is an absolute gem of a piano bar set in the beautiful crumbling ruins of The Gallery Inn. A must see while in Old San Juan. I recommend that people go for early evening cocktails (8pm) before heading to dinner.

La Taberna Lúpulo
151 C. San SebastiánBest craft beer selection on the island with a great food menu.
Factoria is regularly voted one of the top ten bars in the world. With four bars in one, no trip to Old San Juan is complete without a stop here.

Great drinks, great food, great friends! In the back is a small speakeasy called Desvio (ask if you can't find it). My favorite bar in San Juan! Order a "Jon!"

Definitely on the pricier end, but worth every penny. Get the five course meal with wine pairing and you won't regret it!

Very good farm to table cuisine. Portions are a little small so opt for over-ordering!

El Morro
Calle BeneficenciaThe primary fort, definitely worth a visit!
Slightly less visited maybe that El Morro, but I actually like this fort a bit more. It has a lot more grounds to cover with secret doors and tunnels you can wander through with no supervision :)

One of my favorite spots in Old San Juan, Casa Blanca was Ponce de Leon's family home. The house itself is now a museum and the gardens are some of the most beautiful in all of Puerto Rico.

Neighborhoods
Old San Juan is a community of 7,000 people and it has consisted of that population for 400 years. Walking the streets, you can feel the same since of community that would have existed as these walls were first being built. If you spend any amount of time here, you will quickly get to know the shopkeepers, the restaurant owners, the bartenders, and you neighbors. It's the oldest city in the United States and still maintains the feel of a quaint Spanish colonial town.

Calle Cerra is quickly becoming the food scene capital. Head to Musa for brunch and then take a walk to Watusi or El Nie. Along the way, you will pass the best collection of street art in Puerto Rico!
