Walk up counter Pizza place. Go there to get pizza and walk around this adorable part of town. You have to get the deep dish pepperoni pizza ok? Trust me. There is also a garden down the street-- you can take your pizza there and eat it. Look it up its called Elizabeth Street Garden. Other place to eat in this area are Taim (fast walkup mediterranean- also near a cute park). and there are a few cool itallian places like this hipster place Parm and well thats all i can think of now-- but Andrew would have suggestions.

Drinks & Nightlife

Fun place to hear live music. In walking distance. Many nights pay for drinks instead of cover. But sometime I guess there is a cover.

Hole in the wall- original- legit music venue with jazz and other off-beat (but not too off-beat) musical performances. They sell beer and sake (no liquor). I think their shows are at 9, 10, and midnight. But you can look it up.

Super super super hole in the wall jazz club. Very offbeat. If your into that. 20$ a seat per show. No drinks served- this is a pure exploratory jazz club. You will see people lined up.

Bar games, and Jazz club with cool vibe. In basement in the West Village. Very interesting place because there is ping pong, shuffle board, even scrabble. Ha. If you want to play ping pong make sure to get your name in ASAP because you take a number and have to wait until one becomes available. West Village is the only neighborhood i get lost in. But this could also be good opportunity to explore this neighborhood. Could be good to combine this nightlife with an evening or daytime exploration of Chelsea where you can see galleries and the highline.

Everything Else

The best NYC tourist thing to do- I always take people here.-- You can also explore soho- chinatown - and little italy while you are walking on the way to the bridge if you are good with walking. And you can either go all the way across the bridge or just half way and walk back. If you go across I would say to get a pizza in and eat it in Brooklyn Bridge park.

Great museum. Busy on weekends but worth it. If you like off-beat things I really recommend it's satellite museum PS1 (located in Astoria- just a train ride away. It is in a converted school building.

Also an amazing museum if you like weirder installation kind of artwork. Insane view of the city if you go to the very top of the museum. Cool building itself. If you walk by it just go in and check out the lobby- sometimes they have stuff going on in there.

Some people like this. I went and thought it was cool. They give you a tour of an old tenement in Lower East Side. Good for all ages.

If you do go the broadway show route then you can always check out the TKTS booth in times square for reduced price tickets. Times square is awesome thing to see also! You could pair this with going to Central Park, and Bryant Park, and the museum. This is the main tourist area-- so also you can see rockafeller center and radio city music hall.

Entertainment & Activities

I recommend the performances here over any shows on broadway-- but that is just my style. I always felt like broadways shows were a little funny. These are a little more fresh and relevant.
