Food scene
A wonderful market with a large offering of fresh produce. There are also some great street food offerings - especially roti and dhal puri. Every Monday ‘la foire’ comes to town and the market expands along the waterfront bringing with it fabrics, clothing, household goods, street food carts and knick-knaks. Well worth a visit - I make a point to visit each time I am in Mauritius.

A quirky little town - interspersed between the more ‘modern’ buildings are some beautiful original colonial houses that have survived.
