The national trust gardens at stourhead have to be one of the most stunning in england, a must see. Lakes, woodland and roman villas with a palladian style country house. The restaurant is also excellent and very reasonable. On a good day for weather you cannot beat this for a day out.

The wagon is an honest working pub a very short stagger home, no need for a car or taxi. Excellent value for money. The red lion is a bit further away. Live music on some evenings
