Despite not being very close to the apartment, this café is one of our favorite! They have great sandwiches, cakes and coffee, and everything is organic. You can also work with your laptop if you’d like, but try to avoid lunch hours when the cafe is very crowded!

We love this place mainly because their coffee is the best in Budapest! It's also lovely place for brunch with excellent food, although the portions are not too big. Also the location is very nice and it’s only 5 minutes from the apartment!

This historical café will take you to another time. A classic turn-of-the-20th-century gathering spot for Hungarian writers of the Nyugat (West) magazine, this coffeehouse has endured two wars and a communist closure. Coffees are served on silver trays with glasses of mineral water just as in the old days; the menu includes substantial dishes like hortobágyi palacsinta (meat pancakes with paprika sauce) and borjú paprikás (paprika veal stew) all day.
