We went to the Gold Creek Salmon Bake in late July ($56 for visitors, $37 pp plus tax). The salmon was delicious (they use a special brown sugar sauce), and we loved the outdoor setting (with live music) next to Gold Creek where a waterfall is 2-min walk from your table. It is halfway from the airport to downtown. Other amenities are a gold panning set up, Alaskan scene photo opportunities, and a gift shop. Across the highway from the salmon bake is Dipac, the local salmon hatchery ($5 for adults). You might want to check it out before the salmon bake: http://www.dipac.net/hours-and-tours
