Sightseeing
Well you are here so you should amble up the top of the hill. Warning Mt Albert is a dog walkers haven so if you don't love dogs it may not be your think. Half an hours walk from mine to get up the hill and get some great views of the city and a sense of where you are.

Fifteen minutes walk from our house is the Auckland Zoo and on your way you can stroll through Western Springs park. At night you can hear the lions roar!

Its a big one and its not so far from here. Always interesting exhibits on. There's currently an interactive one about the history of NZ rock and pop. Set in the domain which is lovely for a stroll -and a visit to the winter gardens.

Bethel Beach, Muriwai and Piha are all about 40 minutes drive away on the west coast - over the other side of the bush clad Waitakere Ranges - all are beautiful wild and dramatic. Piha has a great RSA for food and a game of pool overlooking the beach - and in summer Bethells has a food caravan and live music.
