The Cork transports you to underground Atlanta or Chicago with unique decor and a delightfully diverse fresh menu. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is a short distance into town. I really like their Black Bean burger and I am not even a vegetarian!

Anthony's is a classic New York Pizza and Italian food place. They are located right down the hill from my house and can service food for the Nantahala Brewery next door. Their Feta cheese, Spinach and Artichoke pizza is my favorite. Their 18" large is huge and they have live music on weekends during the summer.

It is the most visited park in the USA and it is an international biosphere (has more diverse flora and fauna than most places in the world). You can get there via Deep Creek and go tubing, hiking and horseback riding. You can also head out the Road to Nowhere and get to the park straight out of town.

Sightseeing

The Smoky Mountain Railroad is right down the hill from my home and welcomes visitors from all over the world. You can take excursions into the Smokies and Nantahala Gorge. There are themes like the Polar Express from November to January, the Great Pumpkin Patch around Thanksgiving and the Wizard of Oz is happening in the late summer/fall as well. Go to their website at http://www.gsmr.com/ for schedules.
