A 3 hour return trip will take you to the top of the southern most peak of the Grampians National Park. Look south over volcanic plains dotted with Red gums to the volcanic cone of Mt Rouse at Penshurst. Look north along the spectacular series of the tilted sandstone peaks of the Grampians. Amazing view on a clear day. Walk starts at the intersection of C217 and C216. Elevation change 343m. Summit 548m

Mt Sturgeon
Victoria Valley RoadA 3 hour return trip will take you to the top of the southern most peak of the Grampians National Park. Look south over volcanic plains dotted with Red gums to the volcanic cone of Mt Rouse at Penshurst. Look north along the spectacular series of the tilted sandstone peaks of the Grampians. Amazing view on a clear day. Walk starts at the intersection of C217 and C216. Elevation change 343m. Summit 548m
Currently CLOSED for upgrade as part of the Grampians PEAKS Trail. Its a short walk across the road, from the house where you will stay, to the trail head. An easy gradual climb of 128m through open forest. The summit has great views of Dunkeld and Mt Abrupt. Spectacular in Spring for wildflowers. 1 to 1hr 30 min return (2.4km rtn). If your in for a longer walk, the track continues and joins the track to Mt Abrupt.

Beautiful setting, tempting treats and light lunches. Very friendly. Nice woodfire for a cosy rest place.

You must book 55772241. Bring a fat wallet though as prices per person will be in the order of ~$100 + They have a bistro as well which is more moderately priced ~$30 - 50 pp. Recent new rules mean you have to book here as well.

Bring a fat wallet though as prices per person will be in the order of ~$100 + They have a bistro as well which is more moderately priced ~$30 - 50 pp. Recent new rules mean you have to book here as well.
Great coffee, a bar and FABULOUS food awaits you here. The owner was previously a chef at the Royal Mail so he knows good food. Its priced well too with evening meals $14-30. Great for the family. There is indoor or outdoor eating places. Its our favourite place. Nice views of Mt Sturgeon from the indoor eating area. Open weekdays 10.30am - 10pm Sat 9am- 10pm, Sun 9am - 4pm.
