There are not too many places in Victoria with caves such as these. A great place to visit, a 45min drive to Buchan is spectacular. If your in the area it's a place to head out fir a short drive.

What a special place around 45min drive. This is a very important place to the Gunai Kurnai Traditional owners of Gippsland and is a women's water hole. It's extremely serene if you find yourself there on your own you feel a calm washing over you whilst you still there quietly and think about people and elders of the past visiting here. However, it is a very steep incline with rocks to walk up and down and if you have mobility issues you will most be able to navigate the path as it's walking over rocks.

Den of Nargun
Mitchell River Walking TrackWhat a special place around 45min drive. This is a very important place to the Gunai Kurnai Traditional owners of Gippsland and is a women's water hole. It's extremely serene if you find yourself there on your own you feel a calm washing over you whilst you still there quietly and think about people and elders of the past visiting here. However, it is a very steep incline with rocks to walk up and down and if you have mobility issues you will most be able to navigate the path as it's walking over rocks.
Nyerimilang homestead is a 5 min drive from here which is open on weekends for Devonshire teas and on occassion open with displays of farm life of days gone by.

Cruise the lake system on this boat, you may see it sail past during your stay. A good reason to hop on and take a look for yourself. You may get an opportunity to see the lake dolphins. There are various other cruises some which include lunch at the Metung pub.

In Metung, is a Cafe, restaurant opens in the morning through to evening. The food is middle eastern and Asian fusion. Coffee is meant to be good. I can only go by what others have said. I don't drink coffee.🙂

Description of the area.
It's a treed environment that is quite with no shops only the Cove at the end of the road with BBQ facilities. In summer there are more people around trying their had at fishing on the Jetty. The area is known for its artists and creator's and some studio's are open to the public. The minor streets are not bitumen which gives that country vibe. In addition there are no street lights which allows you to observe the stars on a clear night, sometimes they as so close.
You can talk a couple of small walks around here, if you go down to the Jetty and follow the track on the waters edge it will take you around to the private jetties, can in places be a bit of a goat track so not to good for people with mobility issues in some parts.
The other walk is going around loop road. Follow that through to almost the end where it joins Jetty Road, approximately 100mt from it to the left is a gravel track, that takes you through a forested cut through and leads you back onto the road, left again and back down to the Jetty.

Getting to Nungurner, East Gippsland
Nungurner is not easy to get to if you are on public transport. You can only get to Bairnsdale by train or bus to Lakes Entrance. We are 15min from Lakes Entrance and you may be able to get a taxi from there.
出発前に予約しよう
Eating out
May be good to book the Metung pub prior to arrival if you want to go there for a meal, in order to get a window seat. It is usually booked out in advance.
Same with Sardine in Paynesville, please book well in advance to go here. They are always booked out, and pretty rare to get walk ins.
and Sodafish in Lakes Entrance.
Waterwheel tavern in Lake Tyers is a really nice pub with water views and lovely decor and food. May need to book I advance.
