This is a quintessential english pub with brilliant charm, board games, amazing food (worth checking the kitchen is open), lots of outdoor and indoor seating and a great drinks menu. Its is a picturesque stroll from Johnstone House through Henrietta Park and over the Cleveland Bridge.

Johnstone House is just off this wonderfully historic, bustling and beautiful park of Bath with so much history to uncover. I recommend the guildhall market, the Holbourne Museum and Henrietta Gardens as good places to mooch.

Pulteney River Cruises

These lovely trips leave regularly from the weir on the lower side of the river. It is a beautiful way to cool off and escape the hussle and bussle of the city for an hour or so.

Travelling with young children

There are toilets with changing facilities in M&S if you get caught short while shopping. The Egg Theatre cafe has space for children to play and child friendly food options. Alice Park and Victoria Park are both brilliant for children of all ages. The Entertainer toyshop is brilliant if you want to find treats.

Walk along the canal

There is plenty of access for the canal tow path throughout bath and surrounding villages and plenty of stops and parks, pubs and cafes to enjoy in either direction.
