Culzean Castle is set on the cliff top overlooking the Firth of Clyde it is set in a beautiful countryside estate with walks, a swan pond, walled garden, cafes and childrens area. There are also some deer and llamas. The inside of the castle can be visited also. Lovely for a day of walking, history and there is a brilliant second hand book shop as well as gift shop.

Visit the birth place of Scotlands most famous poet Robbie Burns. The Burns Museum is just around the corner as is the Brig o Doon and church which features in his poems

Dunure is only a short way away and can be driven to in 10 minutes or walked to via the ayrshire coastal path in roughly 3/4 hour. The quaint harbour was used as a back drop in the Outlander series. the local Anchorage Inn is a welcoming pub which serves food and has a beer garden. There also is a small cafe and a gift shop.

Food scene
The Harbourside cafe in Dunure village has recently been refurbished and provides freshly cooked local produce from 10am to 4pm everyday. Delicious food, excellent coffee and outstanding cakes local ice cream and most importantly a warm welcome

Our nearest town with some ancient architecture and has a butchers, hairdresser, bakers and several small supermarkets selling a good variety of supplies. There is a small cafe and The Greenside Restaurant can be found here along with chip shop and takeaway pizza and chinese restaurants.
