Volcano National Park It can be one of the best adventures to do in the island specially during night time where you'll be able to see the lava with all it's beauty. It will be cold due to the elevation so make sure that you bring warm clothes, flashlights, snacks and a warm cup of your favourite drink! How to get there? From my house by car at 7pm You will spend 40 minutes to get there, parking is free, they have restrooms near the entrance 1-2 hours walking with a long track and 40 minutes if you pick a short one

Rainbow Falls

It's only 10 minutes away from the house by car, but rainbow falls it's one of the most iconic waterfalls in Hilo. Come right after Sunrise and you will be able to catch a rainbow if you get lucky! it's also a great place to have a picnic break (they have a table there and trash bins)

Carlsmith Beach Park

Carlsmith Beach Park It's located about 8 minutes from the house by car or 40 minutes one way by bicycle. Carlsmith beach park is one of the best places for sea turtle sighting, and you can actually snorkel with them ( don't come too close or they can bite you!) Please feel free to use snorkel gear, it is located in the grey box under the house.

You should be there for sunset, i will recommend start driving at 3.30-4pm from the house, the latest 4.30pm The road takes 1-1,5 hour one way You will stop on the parking to change the clothes, visit a restroom. On the top stay till the end of the sunset, make some pictures Then go back and stop on the same parking to watch stars, they are amazing there! You will be at home around 9-10pm You can also bring some food there!
