Parks & Nature
This lovely little park is directly in front of our house. Its mostly quiet and peaceful, but there's also the odd bits of action, ranging from zumba classes or kids days, to football or basketball training. There's also free wifi in the park and there's always a few shady areas to sit. We take the dogs here early in the morning and real late at night, when the air is cooler. You can see a great number of different birds, bats and funky insects.

This place is a smaller, more chilled out and maybe more refined version of Mercado 60, it's a lot closer to our house and real easy to get to.

Lots of little food stalls, all built into the back yard of a very central building. Live music most nights, a lot of different foods and drinks to choose from. Something for everyone.

Classic Yucatan dishes in a classic Yucatan setting. This place is super popular but also pretty big. They can cater for large groups. It's a worth a visit if you're new in town.

Exactly what it says it is. A food truck park. Lots to choose from. This is a nice, laid back place to grab something quick and easy before heading out. There's a few bars and places to eat along this road. It's just a five minute drive from the house.

Sightseeing
On a Sunday morning this road, and a route leading all the way to the cathedral, is closed to cars and only open to cyclists, skaters, walkers and the like. You can hire bikes in several places but you'd best arrive early as the heat makes sure everyone is up with the birds.

This is the closest, and one of the nicest, pyramid sites to Merida. As an added bonus there is also a really beautiful cenote, which is suitable for all ages and levels of swimmer as it has both shallow and deep sections.
