Exeter Cathedral is nearly 700 years old and has several notable features, including an early set of misericords, an astronomical clock and the longest uninterrupted medieval stone vaulted ceiling in the world. 12 minute walk from Weirfield Road, we recommend booking a morning tour and then lunch in one of the restaurants on the Cathedral Green.

Rougemont Castle, also known as Exeter Castle, is the historic castle of the city of Exeter, Devon. It was built into the northern corner of the Roman city walls starting in or shortly after the year 1068, following Exeter's rebellion against William the Conqueror.

The quay on the River Exe was founded in Roman times but access to the sea was lost by the 14th century when a weir was built across the river to force the wool trade to Topsham. The Custom House dates from 1681, and is reputed to be the country’s oldest custom house in existence.
