Saint Bees is Rowan Atkinson's birthplace but it is also the most quaint pretty beach town in the area. With ice cream and fish and chips and a lovely often deserted beach what more could you want?

About 20-25 minutes drive to Buttermere, you will pass Loweswater then Crummock Water first, each lovely destinations in their own right!

Allonby is a beautiful beach with several parking spots, all along the coast. Beautiful views of the Solway coast and Scotland in the distance. Fantastic for reactive dogs as you can let them off leash safely, far away from everyone else, if it is quiet.
