A Grade II* listed Scheduled Ancient Monunment, Landacre bridge crosses the River Barle upstream of Withypool. It dates from the late medieval period and has five arches of 9 feet each. It is a great spot for picnicking and walking.

An historic fortress with almost 1000 years of history, it was home to the Luttrell family for 600 years until they bequeathed it to the National Trust in 1976. There is also an ancient watermill (now tea room) and packhorse bridge in this beautiful town.

14th century castle owned by the Courtenay family since 1391.
Originally built in 1106 by Richard de Redvers on orders of King Henry I. The castle remained the seat of the Earls of Devon until the mid 16th century. Only open Sundays, Thursdays and Bank Holidays in season.
