The Banff Grizzly House
Are you up for a taste of the exotic- and the eclectic?
Thier fabulous fondues and sizzling hot rock selections are available in fourteen varieties including beef, buffalo, chicken, rattlesnake, lobster, shark, cheese, and chocolate. Or for an alternative entrée, try wild game or Alberta Beef steaks. Appetizers include buffalo steak tartar and Swiss raclette- melted cheese.
Examine the rustic décor and you will find wood paneled walls, a wood carved bear, totem poles, bearskin rugs, a buffalo head and even a mannequin riding a motorcycle. Glance around the room and you will see working phones at every table- a legacy from the restaurant’s former incarnation as a disco nightclub. Sit back and listen to the non-stop 70s music. The Grizzly House is interactive and entertaining.
In the warmer months, have a seat on their front patio. Take in the spectacular mountain views. Or simply watch visitors from around the world and locals stroll by along Banff’s busy main street.
