Across the street is a conservatory, Japanese garden, zoo, lots of open space and picnic grounds. Everything is free.
In the summer there is also what’s called Como town with scale down rides for young children. There is a cost for this area by the ride.

Awesome complex that’s completely free. Includes beautiful lake with biking and walking path. Lakeside Pavilion houses occasional shows and music and they also have a small restaurant.

One Lake of the many chain of lakes in the Twin Cities this is the only one with a band shell and live music. Schedule varies and band shell is only open late spring and summer.
