You need to make time to do this. A 2 hour return easy walk or make it 3 hours and see the seals. To see more than one or two do this between May and October.

It's the best. There's a great chef there and nice food with a changing menu. They also make great pizzas if that is what you prefer. Sunday nights there is often live music.

Although this map show the walk starting in the Newtown area, it begins 15 minutes walk from our place. We use part of this walk most days to walk our dog. It has spectacular views across Wellington.

This Museum has recently been upgraded and gives a strong picture of the development of Wellington. There are many stories to explore. Rachel loves this museum particularly and around April/May each year her Drama classes go there to find, recreate and perform stories that capture their imagination and help them to understand more about local history and culture.

This small, alternative theatre has some ground breaking theatre well worth checking out. Just hop on the website and see if there is anything that takes your fancy. Shows usually run about 2 weeks, and are often locally devised. The building houses 3 separate stages and the one with the Dome is one worth checking out.
There are also performances around different Wellington venues that you need to keep an eye out for. In particular, groups like Taki Rua, Tawata, Te Rehia, The Conch, Massive and Hapai, who all stage stunning Pasifika and/or Maori work that is cutting edge.
