  • Brilliant accommodation in a lovely quiet spot. My kids loved it as it looked like a "Grand Designs" house. great location for all the local activities. We particularly loved hearing the steam train going past a couple of times of day.

  • Really nice architecturally interesting space to stay with good access to the beaches and towns of Norfolk.

    Oliver2016-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place! Gorgeous architecture and garden view. Quiet and restful. Would like to stay longer next time.

  • A super chalet that offers everything a family needs for a holiday in North Norfolk. Well equipped, clean and spacious. Close to local beaches with easy access to the coastal road for access to main beach towns. No hesitation to recommend.

  • Lovely house in backyard of large land at 3 miles outside Holt, a trendy village nearby the Norflok coast. The house is in the middle of the wood, hence made in wood, one bedroom and a large living room with a bed. enough space to accomodate 4 people. Close to the mother nature you are away from all electric highwaves so your mobile phone will be quiet.

  • We really enjoyed our little break at the Pavilion. The place was lovely, very comfortable and relaxing to be in and Ger communicated with us from the moment our booking was confirmed. We would definitely look to make a return visit later this summer, if available.

    Tony2016-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Ger was a lovely, welcoming host. Her garden pavilion is a great place to stay and was exactly what we needed for a short break in Norfolk. We had a lovely time!

    Dominic2016-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Geri was very accommodating with our late check in time even though we gave her late notice! Beds were comfortable too. Only two things that would have made the stay better would be blinds in the living area/bedroom and an iron.

  • The cottage was even nicer than expected as when we arrived the lamps were all on and gave a feel of welcoming rather than stepping into a dark room! A really nice touch plus it was soon very obvious it was set up to a high standard all round and was immaculate. The advantage to us was the fact no animals had been there and therefore no odors to walk into. The neighborhood for us was perfect with the pleasure of purchasing fresh produce in the local Deli & Smokehouse every day. We will most definitely return to Woodbine Cottage.

    Roy2016-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely place to get away from it all. Lovely cottage, very cosy and spot on for location if you are doing North Norfolk. Definitely would go back.

    Geoff2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Woodbine cottage was a perfect home from home, spotlessly clean, welcoming, with lovely linens, super-soft towels and comfy beds. Little details make all the difference - plenty of wooden hangers in the wardrobes, simple crockery and plenty of clean kitchen cloths etc. The layout of the cottage is really well thought through and makes such good use of the space - it feels light, spacious and airy. Louise's warm correspondence made us feel immediately at home and she kindly showed great flexibility when we decided to stay and extra night. Cley next to the Sea in delightful and a great spot to explore North Norfolk which continues to delight us. All in all a lovely spot and we very much hope to come back!

  • We had a lovely time in this fantastic little cottage that felt like a home from home! Everything is exactly like described and shown on the pictures, very clean and decorated with taste! The location is ideal with amenities all in walking distance and our host was most accomodating with prompt replies to all our questions.

    Anne2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful, extremely relaxing period property in a fantastic location. We didn't want to leave. Really welcoming, from the minute we walked into the property, with the heating on, lamps lit and a welcome lemon drizzle cake we realised we were going to have a fabulous 2 night stay. The beds were really comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. We walked to the local pub / restaurant that night and had a great meal in The George. Beautiful little shops, Cley Pottery - well we were so impressed, we pondered and thought about it for a day then the next day we purchased a lamp base, so unique and everything hand made.....We finished our stay with a walk along the coast to the beach....we'll be back!

  • Stayed for 2 nights – and had a lovely time. We drove past the entrance a couple of times before finding the house, but as soon as we located it getting in was a breeze. Fraser's instructions are very clear – but you really have to keep your eyes open not to miss the turn! Everything was clean, warm, well-equipped and friendly. Had a great time – now just need to figure out a time to come back!

  • Fraser's cottage - Sky Blue Cottage in Cley next to the Sea is very stylish and superbly located in the heart of the village. The cottage has all the facilities you will need. Views from the front bedroom look across the salt marshes towards Blakeney and from the rear you see the iconic Cley windmill. In less than a minutes walk from the cottage you can be on one of the coastal paths across the salt marshes to the beach. Sky Blue Cottage has it all and is perfect for two or three people with a good size double bedroom and generous size single room with 4ft bed.

  • We stayed three nights in August 2017 and just wish it could have been longer. The house was absolutely lovely in every way - plenty of space, and beautifully and thoughtfully decorated and furnished. We appreciated the welcoming presents. Sky Blue Cottage is in the heart of a charming village, full of character, and with easy access to the nature reserve and coast. A really good place to stay, and we hope to return some day.

    Steve2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • A fabulous property with beautiful decor- fantastically well-equipped and to a very high standard. The cottage is in a quiet and picturesque setting near the windmill and marshes, and some nice little shops - check out the Picnic Fayre deli! A lovely place for a relaxing getaway.

    Joanna2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely little house, decorated to the highest standard and very clean and comfortable. Great kitchen, well equipped, and good wifi plus a small very private little garden. You are yards from the sea and right on the coastal path. Several restaurants within walking distance. Although quite near the A road which has fairly busy traffic during the day, the house is in a private road some way from the street and at night the A road is very quiet. A really great little place for a couple or 4 at a pinch. Bed a little too soft for us.

    christopher2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect little house in a perfect location!! I would recommend it to anyone. Lovely pub over the road. Windmill practically next door. A stones throw from a fantastic beach and lovely peace and quiet which was just what I needed. Everything you could need in the house except a phone reception but there is a house phone you can use if you leave a couple of coins. I wasn't that bothered as I went for a quiet time. But there is wifi if you need. The decor is beautiful and cosy and the bed super comfy like a cloud. I really didn't want to leave in the end :( Host is lovely and easy to communicate with and all instruction very straight forward. Thank you x

    Cley next the sea, イギリス

The cottage was featured in a 2017 article in Norfolk Magazine listing Norfolk's 8 best Airbnb's and with the following review... “If you’re fond of sand dunes and salty air you’ll love this old two-bedroomed fisherman’s cottage found just a short walk away from the shingle beach in Cley. The interior is whimsically decorated with lots of fun, local art on the walls and when reviewing the cottage on Airbn'b guests talk of beautiful views across the marshland and the local deli as added perks".
THE COTTAGE~ Built in 1850, Mallard cottage is a two bedroom, two bathroom cottage in the heart of the village of Cley-next-the-Sea which lies within the AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and the North Norfolk Heritage Coast. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, an ensuite shower room and loo and a really good view over the reed beds of Cley. The twin bedroom is a good size and a lovely room which looks over a very pretty part of the village (photographed, as is the view from the master bedroom). The family bathroom is very nice and light and is also a good size, benefitting from a double ended claw foot bath. Downstairs is a fully kitted out open plan kitchen, dining and living area. There are characterful pictures and paintings all over the walls and some books and games to choose from. The house has been refurbished to a good standard and has high speed Fibre Optic WiFi and a full range of Sky channels including Sky Sports. It also benefits from double glazing and a very good, new boiler and heating system so you should be warm and cosy all year round. The cottage is the winner of a 4 star Best of Britain self-catering award. PARKING~ There is off street parking at the property which has it's own covered parking space clearly marked 'Mallard' (photographed for scale with the listing of the cottage). The turning into the arch way is very steep and the space is tight for larger vehicles so whilst Range Rover's have been known to park there (normal sized cars are fine) drivers of large vehicles who aren't comfortable 'manoeuvring' into the off street space can find plenty of parking near by. Old Post Office Lane gives pedestrian access to the Fairstead where there is free off street parking with no restrictions. There is also the Village Hall where there is a free and large off street car park with no restrictions.
Cley-next-the-Sea is one of the prettiest villages on the North Norfolk coast. It is on the River Glaven 4 mi (6 km) north-west of Holt and east of Blakeney. It lies within the Norfolk Coast AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and the North Norfolk Heritage Coast between the villages of Wiveton and Salthouse. The marshes around Cley are internationally important for their populations of rare breeding and visiting birds. Cley Marshes bird reserve has been in the care of the Norfolk Wildlife Trust since 1926, making it the oldest county Wildlife Trust reserve in Britain. Among resident breeding birds are Avocet, Bearded Tit, Bittern, Marsh Harrier and Spoonbill. Winter visitors include Brent Geese, Wigeon, Pintail and many species of wading birds. Cley, like neighbouring Salthouse is ideally situated at the apex of the North Norfolk coast as a staging ground for passage migrants, vagrants and rareties of all kinds. An eco-friendly visitor centre opened in 2007 containing a café, shop, viewing areas (including viewing from a camera on the reserve), exhibition area, interpretation and toilets. The view from the visitor centre across the Marsh to the sea is breathtaking. Cley Marshes is the home of the Bird Information Service, publishers of Birding World. The shingle bank holds large numbers of Yellow Horned Poppy. The Grade I listed medieval church of St Margaret's, Cley is the largest church in the Blakeney area dating from (phone number hidden) Cley was once one of the busiest ports in England, where grain, malt, fish, spices, coal, cloth, barley and oats were exported or imported. The many Flemish gables in the town are a reminder of trade with the Low Countries. Some of the buildings that once lined the quay remain, notably the 18th-century Cley Windmill which was used as a backdrop of the 1949 film Conspirator with Elizabeth Taylor. Cley Mill has often been depicted by local artists and was the subject of a painting by the 20th century English landscape artist, Rowland Hilder. In the late 19th century Cley became a holiday resort. The poet Rupert Brooke was staying in Cley when news came that Britain had entered what was to become the First World War. Brooke had dreamt about the war and woke to find it a reality. He did not speak to his hosts all day until his host said, "But Rupert, you won't have to fight?" to which Brooke replied, "We shall all have to fight".
  • We had a wonderful time over the Easter weekend at Melissa's cottage in Cley. It's right in the centre of Cley and a great location for the shops and for walks, but it's lovely and peaceful. Everything was spotlessly clean and the cottage's amenities were great. We would recommend it absolutely.

  • Lovely welcoming place. Very homely. Welcomed with wine and warmth.

  • We loved our stay at Melissa's cottage. Cley was a great place to visit - very pretty village with lots to see and do and plenty of great places to eat nearby. The cottage is as described. Very comfortable and contained everything we needed. Loved the artwork and decor. Very central location. Plenty of room in the bedrooms and nice to have two bathrooms. Downstairs space is quite compact but still comfortable to relax in. Would recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a great base from which to explore North Norfolk. Melissa was very helpful with great recommendations and prompt replies to any questions.

    Imogen2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was fabulous. Communication was great with Melissa and she delivered on all that was promised. Such a great little cottage. Very quirky and original. It really was home from home. Loved the size of the beds and they were soooo comfy. Didn't really want to get up. Great location with Holt and Blakney only a few miles away. Overall fantastic stay and will definitely go back.

  • A lovely stay at Mallard Cottage, very welcoming, especially the bottle of wine left for us! The whole family had a relaxing and comfortable few days.

    kate2016-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Mallard is very easy to find on the Main Street through Cley. Though the lock box was jammed when we arrived Jan was easy to get hold of and her son was soon round to fix it and we had no further issues. Location is great as an easy walk to the coastal path and the Cley smokehouse is opposite and local shop nearby. The accommodation is well laid out with the 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms nicely presented. A good spot to stop off on the North Norfolk Coast

    Graham2015-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa's house is absolutely beautiful. The view from the master bedroom was amazing and the whole place had such a warm and cosy feel. It was exactly what my friend and I needed, right in the heart of the village and with a well equipped kitchen in which to cook up really good fish and vegetables from the smokehouse and deli opposite. There is also a really good bath and ensuite shower. The beds were comfy and all the linen and towels good quality. Melissa was friendly and easy to deal with. We will definitely come again!

Downstairs there is also a cloakroom that houses a washer dryer. A new heating system provides you with hot water and warmth throughout the whole of the cottage. Overall the cottage has been thoughtfully renovated with light and natural palettes of colour, quality furniture and objects of interest, for example, Norfolk historical agricultural tools. Recent guest comments: " Butterflies is the most beautiful place! We could not have loved it more..... thank you so much and needless to say, we can't wait to stay again" "Just to say what a super place, we love it! We may not leave!" "With so much to do, we haven't used the car since we got here."
Slow You Down – This is the first sign you see as you enter Wiveton and while not an order, it sets the scene for the rest of your stay. Wiveton village positioned on the River Glaven between Cley and Blakeney is a hidden gem on the North Norfolk coast. It was once a thriving port in the medieval period with small reminders such as grooves cut into the stonework at the back of the delightful St Mary the Virgin Church, where traders ships would once have been moored. From Butterflies you can explore the surrounding area by foot or short car rides. Within walking distance are coastal paths which link up the villages of Cley and Blakeney. Take time to stroll to the Cley Smoke House or Deli and relax with a coffee at Artemis enjoying great views over the marshes. Also Butterflies is within walking distance of Cley Marshes and the recently built North Norfolk Wildlife Trust centre where you can enjoy the spectacular views over the marshes. The bird reserve is the oldest in the country and home to birds such as avocet, bittern and spoonbill. Further afield but only 4 miles away is the delightful market town of Holt, where you can stroll through the narrow shopping lanes and explore the different specialist shops and antique centres. From Holt you can take in the coastal views from North Norfolk Railways steam train to the traditional Victorian Seaside town of Sheringham. Closer back to home you can enjoy a walk via the Wiveton Downs to Blakeney to explore the villages small local shops and quay. Why not rest on the way back to Butterflies at the Wiveton Farm Cafe where you can have lunch or a cream tea while taking in the fabulous sea views. Finally you can still leave your car at home when visiting the award winning Wiveton Bell pub and restaurant which is only 5 minutes walk from Butterflies.
  • We had a fantastic time at Nicola's place. The moment you walk in it feels homely. The place was perfectly clean, great facilities, amazing shower, lovely wood burner. Also the Wiveton Bell around the corner was probably one of the best meals we've had in a long time! Nicola is a great host and even though she was out the country she was still really responsive and helped us get settled in.

  • Thank you for sharing your cottage with us. We had a lovely weekend, close to nature reserves and the cottage was a super place to return to each evening. The accommodation offered every comfort and the decor and tastefulness of the interior was, in our opinion, just right. We would have no hesitation in returning at some date in the future and recommending the location to our friends. Thank you also for the bottle of red wine - just right to celebrate my birthday - hope to see Butterflies again and day. Tim and Pauline

A minutes walk from the quay, accommodation for the discerning guest looking for comfort in a tasteful, relaxing environment. The cottage has been renovated with a gorgeous contemporary feel throughout. Close to local eateries, the sea, and local wildlife, it is great for couples and families (dogs welcome). Heating and hot water are switched on. Wood for the burner is provided from October to the end of March. We also supply bath products, milk, tea, coffee and a bottle of wine on arrival.
Blakeney is a quaint coastal town on the beautiful North Norfolk coast, which has magnificent views across the estuary and salt marshes to Blakeney Point. Owned by the National Trust, it has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is part of the Heritage Coastline. Blakeney and the surrounding area offers many diverse and interesting things to occupy people of all ages, which makes it a very attractive holiday destination for everyone.
  • A superb location for exploring Blakeney, and right by the White Horse Pub. We didn't feel the need to use our car. The cottage is so cosy and Nicki the host has thought of everything to make your stay perfect.

  • Well laid out, lovely décor, spacious and nicely decorated. Great location . Beds were very comfortable. We had a problem with the hot water on our first night but quickly fixed with no bother. Highly recommended!

  • We loved our stay at Stable cottage. The house is beautiful, airy, and very comfortable. Everything was top spec. We particularly enjoyed the living area and sharing meals round the long table. The welcome amenities were greatly appreciated. One of our group managed to leave some property at the house by mistake and the team went out of their way to return it promptly. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Norfolk!

  • Amazing cottage in a great location, literally next door to the pub which has a beautiful beer garden which is not noisy. Perfectly located for families wanting to access the estuary. Very well kitted out which milk and bread left for us which was a lovely touch. Our only issue was parking but there was a car park on the beach front which was £3 a day which was worth it and only a 1 minute walk. If we had stayed longer maybe we would have found a better solution. The beds were really comfortable with lots of pillows and nice linen and towels. Perfect cottage! Nicki was also very responsive with my questions!

Pimpernel Cottage is a beautifully restored Grade 2 listed brick and flint fisherman’s cottage in the heart of the small North Norfolk coastal village of Blakeney just yards from the quay.
Your comfort is our main aim, so we have filled the cottage with books and games that can be enjoyed in front of the wood burner in the winter or in the small communal courtyard, locally known as a loke, in the summer. The focal point of the living room is the real fire but the cottage has all 'mod cons' too with TV, DVD, ipod doc and DVD library. The compact kitchen is fully equipped with electric hob & oven, microware and Nespresso coffee machine. Up the original staircase (which is steep and therefore not suitable for toddlers or those with mobility issues) is the spacious master bedroom which has plenty of storage, reading chairs and comfortable double (4ft 6") bed. The modern bathroom is next to the bedroom, and has a shower over the bath. Outside is a shared courtyard garden and Pimpernel Cottage has its own corner, with table & chairs, which makes a delightful spot for a summer's lunch or relaxing with a glass of wine at the end of the day.
Pimpernel Cottage makes an ideal base to explore North Norfolk, Nelson’s county. It is adjacent to the Coastal path, and at any time of year you can simply open the front door and wander the 100 metres, passing the Kings Arms on the way, and take in the beauty of the marshes and the exhilarating sea air. We happily accommodate dogs and there are many fantastic walks locally with miles of beaches as well as the National Trust and English Heritage attractions abound in the area. Pensthorpe, for many years home to BBC’s Springwatch is a short drive away. The village of Blakeney was once a busy working port but is now used mainly for sailing and seal trips to Blakeney point - there are many boat trips to this three mile shingle spit, a magical place to visit for keen birdwatchers. The village has great selection of holiday amenities - great pubs, cafes, a delicatessen, fish shop, art gallery and small supermarket & post office catering for all your needs. All these attractions together with welcoming local pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area make Blakeney a superb location to relax and unwind.
  • Lovely cottage and was the perfect location for a relaxed break. We took it easy with a few meals out, a couple in and spent days watching movies, Wimbledon and long dog walks, seal watching and crab eating. This super-compact and beautifully furnished cottage was the ideal base.

  • A lovely cottage in the very pleasant village of Blakeney. Johnny sent the access instructions in plenty of time. We (me, my wife & our dog) really enjoyed the cottage, walking on the various coastal paths & going to the the pub down the road. We'll definitely be back!

  • Just perfect. Cosy and cute in a great location. The weekend was to celebrate our wedding anniversary and there was fizz and chocs waiting for us on arrival! Such a kind thought, highly recommend.

  • Pimpernel cottage is a gorgeous retreat, fantastic interior decor and standards, such as the extra large bath, luxury bedding etc. Thoughtful touches left by the host- bubbly and chocolates which was very welcome! The cottage is well stocked with everyday items such as tea, coffee, towels, toilet roll etc and feels like a home from home. Perfect location to visit other coastal towns, and Blakeny itself is very pretty, nice pubs and walks. Had a great weekend! :)

  • We have just returned home after a 4 day break in Pimpernel Cottage. What a great little home in a great location. Everything we needed was provided in the cottage. We arrived to milk, prosecco, chocolates, tea and coffee, just what we wanted after our drive. We used the cottage as a base to explore the area, but would return late afternoon for a drink and a meal in Blakeney. Just perfect! Thank you!

  • We had a great stay in Johnny's cottage. It's in a good spot near to the quay and shops etc. We would definitely stay there again.

  • We had a very nice stay at this cottage. It's in a great location just moments from the coast and very close to the local store and coffee shop, and Blakeney is a beautiful village to spend a few days! The cottage was cosy and Johnny was a really friendly and flexible host. Thanks for a great stay!

Comfortable, cheerful house with 3 bedrooms, two sitting rooms, a wood burner and a large garden. 5 min walk to the quay. Great marsh and inland walks and birds to see. Deli in high street and three places to eat in Blakeney. Bicycles available.
The large garden for children to play in is unusual for Blakeney. There are bikes in the garage and out door games. There is no gate to the drive so toddlers can escape.
Easy access to the salt marshes and creeks by foot. The nearest open sea beach is at Cley unless you walk across from Blakeney at low tide. The smell of the sea is all around. There are ferries to the Point to see seals and birds and to spend a day picnicking and swimming.
  • An utterly charming house in a beautiful setting with a wonderful welcome. It was a wonderful experience staying here. The house is not only immaculate but it has an abundance of character. Every room was beautiful, including the bathroom on the first floor. The house is a stone's throw from the high street. The village is a haven of peace and beauty.

  • Lovely house, tastefully furnished and spacious we really enjoyed the experience and the garden. `Blackney is a Gem and we were blessed with the weather which meant we watched seals ans visited wells next the sea.

  • Lovely, clean, spacious house with all that we needed for our 3 night stay. Stayed there with our kids and granny and grandpa and we didn't feel cramped which was a real bonus. Was a bonus having 2 sitting rooms so the kids could be boisterous in one and the grandparents could read in the other. Great to have use of the bikes and badminton set. Enjoyed the short walk down to the quay in the the evenings. Would definitely recommend this comfortable house for holidaying in.

    Mark2015-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, ample space for a 4 person family. There is no mobile phone service-- which is exactly what we were after. Good book, DVD collection. Will like to return in the summer. :)

    Brian2017-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • The house was in a good position for walking to the quay, or the shop or the pub. We spent four nights at the house, four adults - and not once felt that we were in each other's way. The second sitting room was ideal for people to use if they wanted to watch TV or just have some quiet time. There are board games to play, music to listen to and books to read and DVD's to watch if you so wish. The kitchen is well equipped, I even cooked Christmas dinner effortlessly :) the dishwasher was indispensable! The log burning stove was easy to work, providing us with warmth and ambience and a focal point in a room where we played board games. Its the perfect place to kick back and relax, no wifi or phone signal - meant no distractions!

    Barbara2016-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay in a clean and cosy house. It was great to be so close to everything and so easy to walk to the quay via the Deli or the pub. Thank you.

    Seaside family house.

Located in the popular North Norfolk coastal village of Cley-next-the-Sea, Bean Cottage is a much-loved holiday home. With its generously-sized airy living/dining area, well-equipped kitchen, three bedrooms (one of which has a pair of bunk beds), off-street parking and pretty gated garden, it’s an ideal choice for families. Bookings can be made from Friday to Friday.
Bean Cottage is a pretty flint and brick semi-detached cottage in the picturesque coastal village of Cley-next-the-Sea, furnished and equipped with everything you need for a perfect seaside getaway. It is especially good for families and could comfortably sleep two families of four. The porch (which offers ample room for coats, wellies, and buckets & spades) leads directly into an attractive and airy living/dining room. At the near end of this oak-beamed room is the dining table which seats eight, while at the other end is a wood-burning stove, cosy chairs, a television and DVD player. A dresser contains plenty of board games and books for that snug night in. The living/dining room leads through into a small hall leading into the up-to-date, well-equipped kitchen with an electric oven, halogen hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, and two dishwasher drawers. Also on the ground floor is a WC/shower room; a door leads to the staircase and an inner hall where you’ll find an ironing board, iron and vacuum cleaner. Up a short flight of stairs to the first floor, where there are two charming bedrooms. The first - a twin room - has delightful views, fitted cupboards and its own washbasin. The second bedroom has a pair of bunk beds and is ideal for children. Also on the first floor is a separate loo and washbasin. Up another short flight of stairs is the loft conversion, which has a double bedroom and ensuite bathroom complete with a shower over the bath, WC and basin. Although no wardrobe, there is space for clothing in the chest at the end of the bed or on the hooks at the bottom of the stairs. Bean Cottage is semi-detached and is located on a quiet road in the heart of the village. The sunny garden is gated and has a barbecue, patio with outdoor table and chairs, and off-street parking for two cars.
The north Norfolk coast is a popular holiday destination for good reason - 45 miles of stunning coastline, teeming with wildlife, expansive beaches, gastropubs, galleries and windmills. Cley-next-the-Sea is something of a highlight in the area. You're spoilt for choice with things to do in this picturesque village - and everything is a mere stroll from Bean Cottage. There's the stunning 14th-century St Margaret’s Church, Cley Windmill (which serves a candlelit dinner to non-residents), and the recently-renovated harbour. Browse the village's charming selection of independent shops and galleries including Crabpot Books; Pinkfoot Gallery, which showcases contemporary local artists; and Made in Cley, with its pretty collection of stoneware pottery. Foodies will be happy, too, with the award-winning Picnic Fayre deli; Cley Smokehouse (you have to try their smoked kippers); cafés (there’s Artemis and The Harnser), and two pubs (The George and The Three Swallows) on your doorstep. Old Town Hall House on the High Street run a fine-dining Supper Club every Friday - it's highly recommended. Just outside the village is Norfolk Wildlife Trust’s oldest and best-known nature reserve, with its new eco-friendly visitor centre containing a café, shop, viewing areas and the fantastic Simon Aspinall Wildlife Education Centre. Not surprisingly, the stunning wildlife reserve is a magnet for bird watchers. The shingle Cley Beach is a mile walk along the coastal path from the village through the nature reserve. Other nearby places of note are pretty Wiveton village with The Wiveton Bell pub and excellent Wiveton Cafe (which recently starred on the small screen in Normal for Norfolk); Blakeney, which has a bustling harbour and is the ideal spot for crabbing; Morston, which has a great sailing school, wonderful marsh walks and is where the seal trips set off from; and the Georgian town of Holt with its abundance of boutiques, galleries and cafes. A little further afield, you'll find the country estates of Holkham Hall and Houghton Hall, the National Trust's Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall, and the seaside towns of Cromer, Sheringham and Wells-next-the-Sea, which used to be a traditional small sailing port and is a fabulous spot for fish and chips on the harbour wall. The beach in Wells is stunning.

17th century property in the quaint coastal village of Blakeney North Norfolk. Sleeps 5 to 6 two shower rooms/toilets. Kitchen fully equipped with dishwasher and washer/dryer plus normal cooking facilities. Gated and fenced outside decked area.
Lovely large L shaped lounge diner with kitchen off, lounge has traditional English leather furniture, very comfortable and a good sized dining table. Renovated two years ago, it has good quality old oak effect flooring and soft furnishings from Laura Ashley. Furniture is a carefully chosen mix of modern and antique. Bedroom one is ground floor twin (can be treble) with ensuite. Shower replaced in March 2017. Bedroom two is double with steep staircase leading to a small shower (shower replaced in March 2017) room and child's bedroom. The bedroom has a sloping ceiling and velux window. It has a 2'6 bed so would also be suitable for a small adult. French door from double room leading to decked fenced and gated seating area with table and chairs.
Blakeney is an idyllic area of outstanding beauty. Unspoilt and lovely walks to see the Blakeney seals. Great restaurants and unique shops
  • Perfect location

  • Cosy cottage with lots of character. It had all we needed for our break. The kitchen is small, but well equipped. It has a dishwasher which is great as the sink is in the corner- so best not to wash up. It is in a lovely location in Blakeney and we had no problem finding space to park on the road (not outside though).

    Jackie2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location but no heating when we checked in. We moved to the nearby pub until the portable heaters made the place sufficiently warm.

  • 1. First thing after booking we found out from Veronica's details that I had been charged full peak season rate rather than the band beneath this. She explained this was to make up for the fees Air Bnb charged I.e I was paying them all not her. When I complained she gave us fee linen which she charges at £60 but still we were out of pocket. 2. Cottage has 2 bathrooms. Both only accessible by going through a bedroom. Toilet upstairs had previous occupants faeces lying in the shower tray. The macerator toilet was blocked and was backing up into the shower tray when flushed. It took Veronica 7-8 days to fix this and we didn't trust it for the last 2/3 so basically this toilet/shower was out use for whole holiday. 3. The washing machine would not spin and was out of action for whole 10 days. Something I only found out once I had run out of knickers. Veronica had her cleaner leuseupstairs flat machine I think it was on the Thu and it was available again on the Sunday I think. This was a major pain as we had packed light. 4. None of the toilets had working locks. Great having your father walk in on you starkers! Magthe upstairs door handle came off in your hands. No big deal as out of order anyway. 5. The stairs to the upstairs box room is very very small and only really suitable for a child. It's unfair I think to charge as though a proper 3 bed cottage because of this and because it can only be accessed via another bedroom and then up one of the tightest and narrowest and steeps set of stairs I have seen. As it turns two of the steps are just about the width of my foot so pretty dangerous for said small child or anyone infirm. 6. Imagine your 11 year old daughter in the box room upstairs. To do a pee at night she had to carefully clamber down the dangerous stairs, walk past her father in bed, walk into the living room then walk past her Grandfather in bed in his room (the doors hinges had sagged meaning the door scrapes loudly off the floor weakening everyone up) then into a bathroom with no working lock on it. To sum up we didn't get a lovely 3 bed cottage. In 16 years of hiring summer cottages for holidays this is the 2nd worst we've had. The worst was laughably cheap though whilst this one wasn't. I think we should be due a refund.

    BRIAN2015-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • The location of the cottage was perfect. It was lovely to stay in the middle of the village. There were many good pubs and shop open till late. Cottage was a little bit out-dated and impractical but the lounge was nice and comfy. The kitchen was well equipped with lots of pots and pans and even a blender. A dishwasher was a great bonus. The bathroom location and electric shower was far from ideal. But overall we enjoyed our stay.

    (EMAIL HIDDEN)2016-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely place for a couple, or for four guests. But, as accurately described, the fifth bed (and second shower room) is in an attic room via very tight stairs and only for the agile! The flat may be an old shop? Certainly a building bursting with character - do take a look out into the 'loke' or courtyard area beyond the small seating deck at the back. The location is perfect - a very short walk up from Blakney's famous quay. Blakeney Deli next door, White Horse (gastro)pub just a few doors down. Or for more a pub with more 'local' character (and a bigger menu selection), the Kings Arms is a short walk away (head down to the quay, turn left and follow the round round - about 300m away). There's a small Spar supermarket short distance futher up too. If you are a National Trust member, parking (including overnight) is free at the quayside car park, but do make sure you are above the high tide line as the car park can flood on the monthly 'spring' tides. Seal trips form nearby Moreston a must. The pretty towns of Burnham Market and Holt well worth exploring. We had a great few days here.

    Peter2017-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • The location is superb, the deli next door serves the most fantastic food, and the walk down the harbour is lovely and very short. Parking is a slight problem but for £3 per 24 hours the nearby public car park is fine. The walks around the area are lovely, and the seal watching trips are great. We had probably the best April weather on record for our weekend there, so we were really sad to leave! Eating and drinking is well catered for, with several restaurants and pubs nearby. For general groceries etc., there's a Spar about 10 minutes' walk away. My only gripes are (1) we had to pay a significant amount extra for bed linen and towels, which we weren't aware of in advance, and (2) as other reviewers have pointed out, the upstairs bathroom may as well not exist, it is so tiny and cramped that you have to stoop to use the toilet and the sink is simply unreachable for anyone over the age of 10. There is another perfectly good bathroom but you have to reach it through the twin room. The sleeping arrangements are a bit odd, with the double bed in the smaller room with the tiny bathroom. Wouldn't seem too hard to fix.

    Lee2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely property in great location right in the middle of Blakeney. Easy walk to the quay and surrounded by shops etc. Veronica was really helpful and we enjoyed our stay.

Beautifully converted old stable block, attached as an annexe to a large family house. The Stables at Sunbeams has two bedrooms (one double, one twin), upstairs living room and kitchen, with use of walled garden. In the centre of Cley-next-the-Sea, with off street parking, it is within walking distance of the beach and other coastal villages of Blakeney, Wiveton and Salthouse.
The Stables at Sunbeams is a pretty flint and brick converted stable block annexe in the picturesque North Norfolk coastal village of Cley-next-the-Sea, furnished and equipped with everything you need for a perfect seaside getaway. It is especially good for a couple or friends looking for an escape to the coast, but it can comfortably sleep a family with two children. The Stables at Sunbeams is attached to a large family house where four children and a dog live; they are well-behaved, but be aware you might hear the odd bellow of laughter or scream!

The cottage has been renovated with a gorgeous contemporary feel throughout. Close to local eateries, the sea, and local wildlife, it is great for couples and families (dogs welcome). Reputedly one of the oldest houses in the village, Hambledon is pretty as a picture with a flint walled cottage garden to the front, and climbing roses around the windows. Once inside the front door, you will be charmed by the delightfully cosy rooms that are brim full of character with fireplaces, beams, Pamment flooring, the odd curved wall, a sloping floor or two, latch doors and pretty floral wallpapers. Thankfully the staircases are straight (yes, there are two, and one is steepish), the furniture is very comfortable, the antique style beds have mattresses that will guarantee you a good night, and the small, but perfectly formed, kitchen is very well-equipped. With three bedrooms, two bathrooms (one has a fabulous Fired Earth slipper bath), a spacious sitting room with dining area as well as a snug/study, this lovely cottage will appeal to families, friends, birders and walkers - in fact anyone who would like to spend some time in this pretty coastal village. Cley-next-the-Sea is a popular holiday destination, and bustles with visitors almost all year round. There's a fantastic delicatessen and local smokehouse just around the corner, as well as a restored windmill for fine dining, pubs, cafes and galleries all within easy walking distance. You can pick up the North Norfolk coastal path from the village, take a stroll to the Norfolk Wildlife Trust's oldest and best known nature reserve and its Visitor Centre, or catch the Coasthopper bus service and take a ride to the other lovely villages along the coast. The beautiful Georgian market town of Holt - only three miles inland - is a popular shopping destination, and well worth a visit.

You’ll love Barn Drift because of the space, light, comfort & country chic feel with glorious & endless gardens, not to mention all the thoughtful extras to make your stay more comfortable. Each of our 8 bedrooms has a pair of Zip & Link beds - this means you let us know how you want each room set up before you arrive, double or twin. There are camp & cot beds too. Good for families, all ages & large groups - lovely for a wedding or civil ceremony or just a get-away to a very beautiful place.
The kitchen and two sitting rooms both with TV's, DVD players and Sky are very light & spacious, all offering comfortable seating for 16 guests as well as masses of floor space and natural light. The kitchen equipment, cutlery, mugs & glasses are plentiful. There is a large double electric oven with induction hob, 2 fridge/freezers, 2 dishwashers & 2 sinks. The bedrooms are arranged over 3 floors (see floor plans on our website). 5 of the 8 bedrooms have en-suites, 2 share a large shower room and 1 has a shower room down a few steps. All bedrooms are very private and spacious. There are large sliding doors opening onto the sizeable sheltered gardens, all with stunning views of the sea, beautiful valley, local churches, marsh & coast line.
Most inhabitants of Cley and in the local area have been there for generations and are interesting, friendly and welcoming. The village has so much to offer such as glorious marsh walks, walks out to Blakeney Point, the award winning deli stuffed full of local cheeses, good wines, freshly baked breads and loads more fine picnic food. There's also the wonderful smoke house, local pottery, art gallery, antiques, cafes, pubs etc - all run by warm and helpful people who usually own the businesses and have been running them for over 20 years. Along the coast road both ways are the villages of Salthouse, Wiveton, Blakeney and Morston. All these villages are teaming with equally charming and delicious attractions - I have my favourites, just ask!
  • The house has a superb location with a lovely vista of the rolling hills on one side and surrounding woodland from the kitchen. It is a short walk from the wetlands and beach too. It is a very picturesque part of Norfolk indeed. The barn has been tastefully renovated, is light and airy, and is maintained to a high standard. It is also warm and cosy - important for our stay in February! The outdoor space will be wonderful to use in the summer. I hope to visit again!

New to airbnb, a modern and larger than usual (1100 sq ft) 2 bedroom cottage in the heart of Blakeney, just off the high street and a short walk to the quay.
Outside: The house is located in a pretty courtyard off the high street so it is very quiet. There is parking outside for 2 cars. Outside space in the front and back. About the house: The house is modern and fitted out with everything you would expect. Downstairs there is a lounge, separate kitchen and dining room as well as a large conservatory, porch and toilet. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms - a double and 2 x single and a bathroom. There is a courtyard garden out the front with seating and space for two cars to park (VERY RARE in Blakeney!). There are 2 TVs, a PS4, wifi and a Chromecast so you can watch TV via the web The lounge sofa is also a sofa bed in case needed
  • Great location; spacious accommodation, tasteful decor, comfortably furnished and all conveniences at your finger tips.

  • This is a cosy flat in a lovely little village. Philippa and Bruce are very welcoming and are on hand if needed. Loved waking up looking onto a field of rabbits and the wildlife in the garden. It is very peaceful. The flat is warm and well equipped with lots of nice touches including the flowers - it feels very homely. We had a great week exploring the area with plenty of easy local walks. Cley next the Sea is very close by and has a great delicatessen. Local coastal buses are excellent if you want a rest from driving. Would love to return one day.

  • Quiet self-contained studio in an extremely quiet location. Very friendly accommodating hosts and generous with milk, cereal pots and wine supplied on the table as you walk in. If you're into it - a great place for bird-watching.

  • A cosy little flat that is perfect for a couple. A short walk from Blakeney and Cley but tucked away down a single track lane in a quiet spot. The bed was comfortable and there were some basic kitchen supplies (like olive oil and jam) which is a nice touch and makes cooking that much easier.

    Thomas2017-08-15T00:00:00Z

Our sun filled, spacious 2 bed house is in a beautiful quiet position overlooking Cley church. We are less than a 5 minute walk to the pub and 15 mins walk will put you onto the marshes and beach beyond. We use Church Knoll quite a bit ourselves hence it is well equipped but are very happy to rent it to others when we can not be there.
This is a really comfortable large 2 bed house with truly amazing views. Very peaceful. The patio garden is pretty, surrounded by flint walls and very sheltered. Facing SE it is great for breakfast and lunch in the sun. We have a table for six outside. There's private parking for 2 cars opposite the front door. We share a small access lane with one other house so there is virtually no traffic except the postman!
Cley is famous for bird-watching and walking being on the north norfolk coast. Our local pub is the 3 Swallows - less than 5 mins walk but there are several good places to eat within a 3 mile radius. Cley has a superb deli and smokehouse. Holt is 3 miles away and this is a renowned Georgian shopping town. Sailing, horse-riding and golf are all local options.
  • Sally's traditional cottage is in such a peaceful and beautiful location, overlooking the church and fields, down a private lane with parking outside. The light filled downstairs with doors out to the small pretty walled garden was a delightful quiet place to enjoy breakfast and relax. The kitchen is very well equipped and also opens to the garden. The bedrooms are spacious with comfy beds. Cley itself is a wee gem with a wonderful local deli and smokehouse as well as a lovely tea room. The surrounding area is beautiful and we walked lots. I visited with a friend and we would both return and stay at Sally's.

Newly built cottage with wonderful views over unspoilt North Norfolk. 20 minute walk to the North Sea, birdwatching Mecca for enthusiasts, gastro pub a 5 minute walk away and the Wiveton Hall Cafe, 15 minute walk away. Situated in a quiet location.
  • We had a lovely few nights stay in a beautiful and peaceful village. The cottage provided ample space for two people and consisted of all mod cons that could be wanted. There is plenty to do in the surrounding country side and lovely beaches are within walking distance or a short drive away. Surrounding pubs serve lovely food and are close by but we found that booking a table is often required.

  • We had a fabulous time at Fo'c'sle with absolutely no hesitation about recommending to others. We will certainly be back. The cottage is easy to find, immaculately clean with just about everything you could need for your stay. The little welcome pack of milk/bitter and croissants was an added bonus as was the pub down the road (food to die for!).

Stunning marsh and sea views. Run by International artist Frances Kearney (RCA), and mum with toddler who returned from East End London to her native home. Contemporary, traditional. Extremely relaxed. Former art gallery of Patrick Kearney. No pink frills or silly rules.
NB - This listing is for a shared Bed and Breakfast with the host rather than a self contained entire home.... Please read the rest of the description in full to understand more. A unique and fascinating coastal Bed and Breakfast over looking the sea in Cley next the Sea. The Studio is without pink frills or silly rules. Non precious and very child friendly with a home from home feel. 'The Studio' is a wonderful base to discover North Norfolk, run by me, Frances Kearney - a young International artist (RCA) who returned to Norfolk from the East End. The house is directly opposite Cley beach where we all swim in the summer and two minutes walk into the village. The Studio is a relaxed and aesthetic environment ( contemporary /traditional ) hosting modern art, design and the series of beautiful historical marine paintings that Patrick Kearney painted, all 26 Brigg sailing ships that used to frequent this important former port in the 1800's. This is a classic B&B - suitable for couples and families with young children as it is very laid back and relaxed rather than tweaked and precise. There are 2 private bedrooms next door to each other, both have double beds and one a single too although this room is at the back of the house and small so more suitable for children or a single occupant or a couple. Breakfast is served around an old french farm table, looking onto incredible marsh views. Frances also lives in the house with her young son and will be in and out - always on hand to answer questions. 'The Studio' has many distractions for a rainy day: board games, toys, books and a wonderful ongoing fossil & round stone collection. The main room has stunning panoramic views overlooking Cley marshes towards Blakeney Point. All bedding is feather and the linen is Egyptian cotton. Breakfast consists of local smoked salmon and scrambled eggs or kippers, lavatzza coffee, yogurt, fruit & toast. There is full wireless throughout. The guests sitting room has a roaring open fire when requested in the winter and a piano. To the south there is a pretty walled garden with an open fire grate and to the north at the front of the house one can sit and watch the evening sunset over the marshes before a wander down to The George Pub two minutes away. The Studio is an ideal location for a restful weekend away or a mini break for walkers, families, couples, bird watchers, writers, artists, children or those seeking a sailing holiday and seal trips to Blakeney Point. Non smoking. Off street parking.
Things to do This corner of Norfolk offers some of the best bird watching, sailing, beaches, walking, wildlife shops and entertainment for the children. Below is a rough guide to some of the pleasures on offer, with links to more information. Beaches and boat trips Blakeney: Blakeney Quay is a mile west of Wiveton Hall by road, and a pleasant hour's stroll away by the coast path. The pebbly beaches of Cley, Salthouse and Weybourne are a short distance east along the coast from Wiveton. This is an ideal start for the very hearty who want to walk out to Blakeney Point. The coastal towns of Sheringham and Cromer are less than half an hour away with a variety of shops and arcades and the pier at Cromer. At Stiffkey the tidal marshes and creeks are beautiful for walking at low tide. Wells-next-the-Sea has picturesque beach huts and miles of sandy beach and dunes. These lead round to Holkham Beach and then on to Burnham Overy Staithe where there is access to Scolt Head Island. Brancaster Beach is another sandy beach, good for bathing and making sandcastles. Land reclamation in the 17th century left the adjacent village of Cley-next-the-Sea a full mile from the shore in what are now the famous Cley marshes. • Can't express how much we loved this place. We fell in love with the house and the place and are set to return already. The location is incredible; one direction looks out across the marshes to the most beautiful walk down to the sea and the other is a short walk to the lovely village of Cley. Whilst miraculously unspoilt, it offers everything you need from great pub food to delis and the famous Cley Smokehouse. Fran and her sister were the perfect hosts. They were completely flexible and massively accommodating of our boys and the relaxed running of the place suited our needs perfectly. Cannot wait to go back and take friends. Amazing!!

  • I have just returned from a wonderful stay at The Studio in Cley with my sister and elderly grandmother. Frances made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived until we waved our goodbyes a couple of days later. The Studio is a fascinating, enchanting place with wonderful things to see on the walls and surfaces (stunning art/ornaments etc), fabulously comfortable beds and very splendid breakfasts!! The view across the marshes from the breakfast table is breathtaking. Would have no hesitation recommending it to others and we have already planned a return visit in the spring xxx

  • What an amazing place!!! If you like friendly, warm, cozy, welcoming, great breakfast, come and go as you wish, nature, vast skies, marsh harriers and barn owls from your bedroom window.....oh and taxidermy...... Then you will love this place as much as we did.

  • Wanting a weekend away from London, Frances' place could not have been more enjoyable. We welcomed warmly and amazed by range of art and objects in the house. The bed was very comfortable, totally quiet and pitch black at night (not like home). The local smoked fish for breakfast is highly recommended.

Marsh Lane Cottage is a luxury flint cottage on the estate at Wiveton Hall. It has beautiful views across the marshes towards Cley-next-the-Sea and the windmill. The cottage is situated along a peaceful lane with shops; cafés and pubs all within easy walking distance and is the ideal get-away location. It is beautifully and individually furnished with, feature beds and an eclectic mix of new and antique furniture and a sunny, private, walled garden with great views.
  • A really lovely cottage. Very spacious. It has been renovated very tastefully. The log burner was fantastic and perfect for cosy nights in. Cley is a short walk away with a great deli and cafe. We will definitely be back

  • It is the most beautiful cosy flint cottage we stayed. A good location, with the Kings Arms (a popular local pub) and a supermarket just within walking distant. Rooms are warm and clean and kitchen is well equipped for any self catering. Desmond came and said hello to us when we arrived. We also visited Desmond's house and his farm which was just a short walk from the cottage. We had wonderful countryside experience there and everyone had lots of fun. THANK YOU!!!

Things to do around Wiveton Hall: •Take the Wiveton Garden Walk – which takes in the walled kitchen garden which is being restored to its former glories. It’s £2.50 and tickets are available at the shop. •Pick your own seasonal produce. Always a winner when the berries are out – Late May to August, 9.30-4.00pm •Hire bikes from Huff and Puff and cycle to Glandford – play in the ford, have tea in the art café. •Natural Surroundings at Bayfield Hall – just a 5 minute drive, this small nature reserve is a really sweet spot for little ones, and the café is cute, hot choc and toasty sort of affair, with bird spotting from inside the café. Green woodpecker on the feeder last time I was there. You can walk from here to Glandford ford and Art café. A lovely 20 min stroll through the Glaven Valley. Head away from the Hall from the car park, you’ll see the footpath. •Rope swings! In the woods above the ford at Letheringsett. Nice place for a paddle, then head along the footpath opposite the ford towards Holt. As you enter the woods, the rope swings are near the entrance. Other stuff to do: •You can’t come to Blakeney without a trip on one of the seal boats. They run daily. It’s fab. Check out Beans Boats. •Swim in the Freshes (creeks). They are really muddy, so don the kids wetsuits, but many fun hours to be had sliding down the muddy banks into the water. •Crabbing off the quay. •Norfolk Wildlife Visitors Centre in-between Cley and Salthouse – a great educational centre for budding bird watchers – Grab a coffee with a view of the marsh – or start your days spotting from there over the board walks to the hides. •Walks - There’s a lovely 4km circular walk from the camp at Wiveton which goes out across the marsh and Blakeney, and round to Cley, where you can stop for much needed refreshements. The map is in your intent pack. Of course you can walk to Blakeney point – start at Cley beach car park. It’s a good hour one way. Maps also in packs. Please stick to the footpaths when walking on the marshes – it is tidal and you can easily get cut off! Food glorious food - You are spoilt for choice for places to stop for eats around Cley and Blakeney. Here are but a few: •Walk to the White Horse on the front in Blakeny or the Kings Head in Cley. •Cookies crab shack on the green at Salthouse •The Dunn Cow in Salthouse – got to be the best view from the garden of the north Norfolk coast – I saw a Bittern flying over the marsh while sipping a post clean cider there last summer! Great food too. •Wiveton Bell – swanky! •Kings Head at Letheringsett. Pizza in the garden… •The Three Swallows – traditional pub food, not swish, but great beer garden and green opposite for the kids to play on – and the most amazing church next door which is worth a look. •Fish and chips – Alberts in Holt, trad fish and chips. Daves in Sherringham, Frenches in Wells. •Byfords in Holt – All day great food for adults and kids to eat in and take away.
  • The tents are fantastic, and fun, and the location (Wiveton) couldn't be better – ten minutes walk to Blakeney or to Cley.

  • Communication was great before and during our stay. Really nice owners, very affable and friendly and made us feel very welcome. Everything was just as was described down to every detail. The site is lovely and the Wiveton cafe a real treat. This feels like a really special place. We'd love to return. As first time campers this was a great introduction. Thanks Shaun and Amber!

    Emily2016-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • A friendly note was by our tent welcoming us to Wiveton with a contact number if we had any questions, this was followed by text messages checking everything was OK. The location was lovely, cooking on the open fire was great and only walking distance from Blakeney. We enjoyed breakfast at the Cafe before we left. A very enjoyable break.

  • Exactly what we had hoped for - a home away from home with a little twist. Perfect for families who want a little something different from their homes holidays. Couldn't recommend it highly enough.

  • Amber's bell tent was fantastic. We were staying as a family, and found it to be very relaxing. Everything was supplied to make the camping experience a far more luxurious one. I highly recommend Amber' s tents.

    Zachary2017-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • The tent was exactly as described: in an idyllic setting with next to some woods just a ten minute walk to Blakeny. Everything was on hand as described. Toilets and showers were spotless and cleaned each day.

    Jeremy2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is exactly as described. The perfect way to camp especially if you are novice campers like us. A really lovely setting and peaceful spot. Great for children. Bell tent was v clean with lovely white sheets. Bathrooms also nice and clean. Close to some great beaches also.

  • We have just returned home from our amazing stay at Amber's Bell Tents. This was our first experience of glamping and our children are already asking when we can return! The tents are luxurious and extremely comfortable with special touches such as quality linen, flowers, amenities to get you started (kindling, fire starters, tea/coffee and even marshmallows!) We appreciated fantastic ablutions, detailed information on the area, not to mention fruit picking on our doorstep and the fabulous Wiveton Hall café. Our children had an amazing time cooking by fire, roasting marshmallows and we had visits from a little hedgehog and bats at dusk. It is a joy to have a camping experience without all the headaches of camping!

You’ll love Blackbird because of It's peaceful coastal location within Blakeney yet so near the bustling quay. Our Cottage is good for couples and families with small children. The area is renowned for its wildlife and birdwatching with the coastal path only metres away.
One of the few Blakeney cottages with both an enclosed garden and its own onsite parking
Unspoilt Blakeney offers a unique experience of the North Norfolk coast. fresh air, nature walks, wildlife, restaurants and local produce, peaceful relaxation and an excellent base for day trips out
  • Great location. Well appointed cottage with beautiful decor. Very comfortable.

    Diane2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a nicely decorated centrally located cottage (all on ground floor) right in the heart of the village of Blakeney. It comes with a double parking space (rare in this village) which is two cars length ways so if like us you have a big car and big bike rack, it is perfect for parking easily. The cottage is cosy and well equipped with a good sized main bedroom and a small second bedroom with a floor bed for the second bed in the spare room. This was fairly snug but we managed with two young children. We had a wonderful stay over the May bank holiday and would not hesitate to recommend this as a great base for a family or other holiday, ideal for trips to the beach, for cycling, walking and our children's favourite new pastime, crabbing! Our only gripe was that whilst we stayed there was insufficient hot water for a family of four, which wasn't ideal when coming back from the beach with grubby sandy children! However the owner Nigel was easily contactable about this during our stay and advised us that it is a fault that is being fixed. North Norfolk is a beautiful part of the country and Blakeney really is a lovely place to stay. Recommended by us! ️

We are on 40 acres, with private walking trails and wonderful views of the Glaven Valley to the sea and access to the Wiveton Downs. Just half a mile from Blakeney village, along a quiet lane and within easy reach of Norfolk's finest beaches. Dogs most welcome. Easy parking.
  • We had a lovely few days in the area, staying at Tawny Owl cottage with our 2 year old twins. We found the cottage nice and cosy, and it was great to have the outside space to play and walk too. When we go away it's always important to us to have an outside space to enjoy nice evenings, so it was great to have use of the BBQ and outdoor table. Petranella gave us some really great tips for places to get fresh, locally sourced food and areas to visit in the area.

    Kirsty2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and cosy, set outside Blakeney but still a good location to access the nearby towns. Peaceful and kids loved the trampoline. No wifi during our stay but BT were trying to fix that so doubt it will be a problem for anyone else.

    TAWNY OWL COTTAGE

Pembroke cottage is probably one of the most magical places you could ever stay. It is our treasured family holiday home and for the first time we are opening up a few dates in 2017 for others to enjoy it. The cottage itself has 2/3 bedrooms and a further one bedroom annex provides perfect secondary accommodation for grandparents or older children. Panoramic sea views from nearly every window and an acre of stunning gardens overlooking the famous Salthouse salt marshes. Extras include Bell Tent.
Sleeping arrangements at Pembroke are as flexible as you need them to be. Just get in touch to discuss the various sofa beds and room options. If you have smaller kids the main house is the perfect family retreat with everything you could need for children and babies of all ages. If you have older kids or grandparents in your group you can also book the annex which is just a couple of steps away and provides a tranquil peaceful getaway for anyone lucky enough to have it. For the teenagers in the group there is a PS4 hidden away in the cupboards. If you would like the annex as well please mention when booking as there is an extra charge dependant on individuals needs. Please note there is not a kitchen in the annex but there is a coffee bar. Also available as an extra is our gorgeous Bell Tent. It can be pitched in the garden to supply extra space for more guests. These lucky visitors get to take advantage of the cool outdoor loo and shower.. where you can shower while looking out to sea! Life at Pembroke is mostly all about the outdoor space. With nearly an acre of gorgeous gardens, a trampoline for the kids and sun loungers and hammock spots looking out to sea. You will never want to leave.
We are ideally placed in Salthouse to explore everything North Norfolk has to offer. Salthouse itself has the award winning Cookies Crab restaurant and the fab Dun Cow Pub as well as a village shop and deli. We are 10 minutes from Sheringham which has everything you need from a Saturday market to a large Tescos to a Theatre and Arcade. There is so much to see and do. You will find a tropical swimming pool, a kids park. Museums, shops, cafes and much more. Sheringham is a great day out for everyone. ..and 5 minutes from Blakeney. With it's beautiful quay famous for crabbing and seal trips. Take a walk out to Blakeney point or sit back and enjoy afternoon tea in the Blakeney Hotel. 10 minutes from the glamorous town of Holt which provides a wealth of gorgeous shops, cafes and pubs.
  • If you are looking for a peaceful time away then Pembroke Cottage is perfect. I stayed here with my other half and friends with their little boy who was ecstatic with the bedroom with bunk beds and generous toy selection. With an immediate warm feel, the spacious cottage has amazing light and beautiful views and within 30 minutes of Holkham beach, which I highly recommend to anyone who is planning a trip to the area. Jody added a few finishing touches to make us feel welcome and clear instructions in the welcome manual. (I won’t say what those touches are as I don’t want to ruin the surprise for other guests). Thanks for sharing your special cottage with others. I am sure many more people will leave with smiles on their faces like we all did.

  • The house and annex were beautiful and very comfortable and in a lovely scenic location. It was the perfect place to escape with the family. The Dun Cow pub next door was also really worth a visit. Beautiful gardens and surroundings with lots of nice little seating areas to sit and admire the view. The games room was also a lot of fun, as was the table tennis and huge gardens. Thank you.

    Hazel2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible find! The home was beautifully presented with great views from every window. The spacious garden was gorgeous and great place to spend time in the sun. Lots of lovely communal spaces are great for groups or families to hang out together. Every home comfort was provided and there were loads of things to keep big and little kids occupied. Close to the beach and next door to the Dun Cow pub which is great for food and drink. Village shop and Cookie's crab shack are a short walk away. A fantastic place to stay and we plan to go back very soon!

  • My partner was so impressed with Pembroke Cottage that she insisted that she write the review for fear of me not doing the place justice: When you see a beautiful sunset, you reach for a camera to catch the moment, but it can never capture the feeling. This is how it felt at the cottage - you have to go to get a sense of the beauty of the location, to fully appreciate the attention to detail and quality of the interior, and to enjoy the facilities. This is a fantastic place for families and the range of activities of children is outstanding. Our children are teenagers and they not only had abundant space to play football, but spent hours on the trampoline, playing pool and table tennis. In addition, the games cupboard is fully equipped and there was a PS4 in the annex (although I'm delighted to say that the fact that there was so much to do outside meant that it was never switched on). A relaxed 10 minute stroll takes you to a stunning beach and next door is a great pub, as well as numerous places to eat only a short drive away. On arrival a welcome box of goodies was a lovely touch. Judy was always quick to respond to queries, and the whole process was seamless. There is much more to be said, but in short, just go. You will be so glad that you have. Just make sure that you leave a weekend free for us to return.

One of two lovely 4* Gold barns, with a huge games room, that remain sympathetic to their surroundings. Located in a wonderful tranquil rural location. The barn has a large open plan living space with a modern kitchen, dining area and sitting room with a feature woodburner and underfloor heating throughout. Superking master bedroom with large en-suite bath and shower room plus "his and hers" basins. One twin bedroom and a further single bedroom that includes a single pull out bed.
Converted in 2008 from a late 18th threshing barn the barn has been furnished using modern pieces rather than "hand me down" items. The exposed brick and flintwork in the living area, combined with the trusses give that perfect barn conversion feel. The contemporary lighting, off white paintwork,
A wonderful rural setting, adjoining a large field, normally filled with cows and other wild life. The Georgian town of Holt is just 2 miles south with large amount of shops and cafes. The picturesque village of Cley-next-the-Sea is 2 miles to the north. The internationally renown Cley Marshes and the coastline along to Blakeney Point are beyond.

Pit Cottage is the perfect bolthole for a luxury coastal escape, overlooking the saltmarsh to the sea in the peaceful North Norfolk village of Salthouse. Coastal views & gorgeous garden. Dogs welcome (a cleaning charge will apply). Many more guest reviews and photos at (URL HIDDEN)
Salthouse is part of the North Norfolk heritage coast (and on the Peddars Way & Norfolk Coastal Path), designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are plenty of wonderful walks right from the doorstep. Salthouse is well equipped with the renowned Dun Cow Pub, Cookies Crab Shop and The Old Post Office delicatessen. For bird enthusiasts, Salthouse is famous for its bird-watching marshes, and the cottage is less than two miles from NWT Cley Marshes, one of Norfolk’s oldest and best known nature reserves.
  • We had a wonderful stay at Pit Cottage at the weekend. The cottage is exactly as it looks in the pictures, equipped with everything you might need and of a high quality. The cottage is perfectly located to explore the local area with plenty of walking, bird watching nearby and a Michelin star restaurant 5 minutes drive away and a good quality pub 5 minutes walk! Stacey was a great host and we are looking forward to returning one day.

'The Shed' - beautifully restored brick and flint annexe in coastal village of Morston near Blakeney on north Norfolk coast. Sleeps up to 5 in 2 bedrooms (plus loftspace) with sunny terrace / BBQ. Great location in AONB, coastal walks, beaches, galleries & shops nearby. Friendly village, great pub!
The Shed is a beautifully restored brick and flint cottage - furnished and equipped with everything you need for a perfect coastal getaway. It is good for couples, 4 adults or a family of up to 5. The main bedroom is lovely and light, with a comfortable kingsize bed, pretty fabrics, luggage bench and wall hooks for storage. Bedroom 2 is smaller and has built-in adult sized bunk beds. Each bunk has a reading light, shelf, and there are wall hooks and storage underneath the beds. There is additional loft space with own reading light to sleep one person which is accessed from the top bunk - perfect for a child but large enough for an adult - a mattress and all bedding will be provided on request. Limited headroom here!! Please note the bunk room does not have a door to the corridor. The shower room has shower, loo and basin. A corridor links this and the bedrooms to the sitting room/kitchen area. The sitting room has games, TV / DVD player, DVD library and books for you to enjoy during your stay. At one end is a compact but well equipped kitchen with electric hob, on-the-counter mini oven, fridge, toaster, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine and milk frother. There is a farmhouse table and 4 chairs. French doors lead out onto a small sunny terrace with your own BBQ and looks out over our pretty kitchen garden. Please note The Shed's small terrace adjoins our main family terrace which are separated only by a step - see photos. As a welcome, a tasty but simple breakfast will be left for you for your first morning. This is on a DIY basis - fresh fruit, milk, croissants/bagels and preserves. Tea and coffee are also available.
Morston is a pretty village on the north Norfolk coast and has heaps to do. Daily seal trips leave from Morston Quay for Blakeney Point, a sailing/power boating school, the Anchor Inn village pub is fantastic(!), as is the michelin starred Morston Hall restaurant so booking is advisable in high season. The Norfolk coastal path is just minutes away for fabulous coastal walks, the sea, sailing, birdwatching, fresh sea air and the beautiful salt marshes. Surrounding Area - Wiveton Cafe and PYO fruit farm (infamous for the Normal for Norfolk TV documentary) or Blakeney village for mud-sliding and crabbing are both within easy reach by foot or bike. The sandy beaches of Wells and Holkham 5-10 mins drive. Historic houses of Holkham (10 mins), Houghton (30 mins), the ruins of Binham Priory (5 mins) and Castle Acre (30 mins) are all nearby and there are many other National Trust properties and other attractions to visit. Just 10 minutes away is the Warham Iron Age fort - a must for a picnic on a sunny day. There are plenty of historic churches to visit, the Wells pinewoods, golf courses, farm shops and famers markets, walking the Peddar's Way to name but a few things to do! The market towns of Holt (10 mins) and Burnham Market (20mins) and the village of Cley (5 mins) are great for shopping, cafes, fish shops, a bookshop and delis. The Spar shop in Blakeney the next village is great for essential supplies and is open until late every day. This really is the perfect base for enjoying and exploring the beautiful north Norfolk Coast.
  • Beautiful space, great location, pleasant host, nice courtyard seating outside, owls calling, good pub food in walking distance.... I hadn't realised until we arrived that it's not exactly two bedroom ... the twin beds are in a space that doesn't have a door, so if other guests are in the living space or get up in the night to use the loo, the twin bed "room" is open to the lights or sound. Not ideal for two poor sleepers who specifically wanted separate rooms. I missed this in the description of the property before I booked. Otherwise, though, a very lovely place to stay.

    Rachael2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • We were welcomed on arrival and The Shed was exactly as described, warm and cosy and clean. We enjoyed the breakfast provided and had a lovely evening in cooking and watching DVDs. • Susannah was very welcoming and we loved the annexe which is delightful with comfortable seating, beds and lovely decor. It was perfect for us with our two grandchildren 5yrs and 8yrs - they loved the bunk beds and there were also dvds and games. Location was perfect - lovely meals at the local pub on both evenings and we decided on the boat trip from Morston to see the seals.
