A village-feel cottage, with colourful decor, at the back of the main house overlooks a small courtyard and swimming pool in a hacienda style setting. The cottage has an arty, laid-back vibe, located in the quiet, leafy suburb of multicultural Norwood, central to JHB's most prominent sights & amenities. Walking distance from supermarkets and restaurants, with a cruiser bike available for guests to use

The cottage is decorated with a few interesting art pieces from my travels to Cuba, Nigeria, and Dakar. The kitchen is fully kitted with a lovely breakfast nook, catching all the morning light. The bathroom has a spacious shower with subway & moroccan tile finishes. It leads to a small study/2nd bedroom that has a writing desk, and a futon that could be used as a second bed. All and all, a cozy, village-style hide-out ideal for creatives, writers or academics who need some quiet time.

Guests have access to the courtyard, that has a pool, a gas 'braai' and a dining area. Guests can also use the shared laundromat at no extra cost.

Culturally diverse, leafy suburb close to the inner city. Ethiopian, Middle eastern, Italian, Indian restaurants - offering Kosher and Halal. Walking distance attractions such as Mahatma Ghandi's house, and The Factory on Grant. Norwood is one of those suburbs that you can't quite place because of its many cultural influences. Oh, and definitely stop by at Loof for great coffee, and Baha Taco for the best enchiladas.

I am a country girl by origin who made the bold move to the Big City ten years ago.
