The two factors that make our beautiful house so special are its setting and its architecture: Located in the heart of Castellaneta's enchanting historical centre and just 15 minutes from the sea by car, the house overlooks the spectacular cliffs of the Gravina di Castellaneta, a canyon-like geological formation for which the area is known. Built in a style that is highly characteristic of the region, the use of local white stone as a building material keeps the house cool and dry in summer and warm and cozy in winter. The atmosphere, too, epitomizes southern Italy: you'll spend your holiday nestled amidst olive trees, surrounded by flowers, and enjoying lovely views of the sea. The goal of our recent renovation was to create an ambience that meets the highest contemporary quality standards - - without losing the bucolic charm of an Italian country house.
There is a master bedroom (with a huge double bed, a wardrobe, nightstands and a chest of drawers) and a guest bedroom (with a sofa bed for two, a chest of drawers, a fireplace and a TV). In addition, there is a brand-new, fully equipped designer kitchen, a dining room with dining table, a bathroom with a small bathtub, and a terrace with wonderful views. The house is very bright, with many windows and a balcony.
The little city of Castellaneta has been settled since the Bronze Age and was the birthplace of Rudolf Valentino. It is conveniently located just 40 minutes from Bari Palese International Airport, which is served by Ryanair, Air Berlin and all the major airlines. Castellaneta Marina, a seaside resort with a large white-sand beach, is also located nearby and you can easily take day trips to Matera (20 min), Martina Franca (50 min) and Castellana Grotte (40 min).
From our house you can walk to restaurants, pizzerias, kiosks, supermarkets, bakeries and specialty dairy shops that produce the fabulous mozzarella for which Puglia is known.
We know you'll enjoy an unforgettable holiday at our house in sunny Puglia.
