We have done a number of AirBnB's and this place ranks among our very favorite. My wife grew up in Western NY (we have lived in Michigan for many years) so getting back to such an idyllic spot to take it all in again was important. This place delivered in spades!
First, our host Robin was great with communication and he met us immediately upon arrival. He was super interesting and showed us all around, sharing lots of fascinating family history about the property, his life and art.
The place was stocked with anything you will need to cook and be comfortable, right down to pre-built fires just waiting to be lit. It was the perfect size home our family of five. My wife loved her backyard creek while growing up in NY, and this place recreated those memories! We spent hours out on the property, exploring the creek, the woods and finding all kinds of wildlife. The setting is simply spectacular! The gardens are just lovely and so well cared for.
It's only a few miles to Eden where we enjoyed several good meals (Eden Ale House and Eden Seafood and Pizzeria-great pizza and wings!) and Hamburg is not far away either. Nor is the city itself, where we arrived at the Buffalo Zoo in under 30 minutes. The main attraction for us was getting back to the annual Erie County Fair, the 3rd largest county fair in the nation! So much fun if you are into that kind of thing.
The home itself is wonderful too. It's very tastefully decorated with Robin's artwork (he is a awesome artist) found throughout. It's bright, cheery as well as being warm and inviting. We had fires in the large indoor fireplace several nights and there is an outdoor firepit too.
We hope to visit again! Thanks Robin for a most memorable week and for opening your summer home to us. We really appreciated it.
