Great apartment only a couple of minutes walk from the main entrance of Kyoto station. Fumi was lovely and kept in contact and even arranged to meet us at the station to show us where the apartment was and how the keys worked.
Building is very secure as has a door you can only access with a key.
Room was as per the photos, very comfortable and had a sofa. Although there was a closet we personally found it easier to use the sofa for our cases but this still left plenty of room in the apartment.
There is a small microwave and cooker but we were out so much we didn't use these. We did use the kettle and small fridge freezer though.
There is so much in the area, a Lawsons and Familt Mart within a minute of the building for your every day shopping and snacks as well as loads of restaurants and shops.
The main nightlife of Kyoto seems to be in Sanjo so this was either a 30-40 minute walk, a 10 minute walk and then a subway or 2 trains (the subway and one of the trains will not be covered by a JR rail pass if you have one ). This was no an issue for us as although we went there 3 times, one of them we'd been walking all over Kyoto anyway and the others we walked and took a subway or cab back. If you are travelling with lots of luggage or are planning on seeing other places outside of Kyoto such as Nara or Arashiyama, then this is the place for you as it is much more preferable to be close to Kyoto station.
There is a washing machine but no dryer. Clothes can be dried on the balcony but we were unlucky that we washed clothes and then it rained for 2 days. To be honest there is a coin wash a few minutes walk away and having used this in other places in Japan, I would personally do this as clothes are washed and dried in under an hour but it is convenient to have it there.
The beds were very comfortable and there is even a separate bath and shower room.
I would very much recommend the apartment and would definitely stay there again next time we are in Kyoto.
