Beds include 1 King, 1 Queen, 1 twin and a pack and play. NOTE: Horse and motorcycle trailers must be unhitched and can be safely parked at bottom of the 1 mile long uphill gravel driveway.

Surrounded by nature, you'll want to hike several nature trails that head up and down the wooded mountainside. If you get too hot or cold, the comfort of a fully air-conditioned and heated home awaits your return.

The kitchen is fully appointed with a refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher and kitchenware. A gas grill is available outside. A washer and dryer area also available. The detached garage is not accessible to guests. Note: Although a wheelchair ramp allows handicap access to home, there are no handicap entry baths, handicap showers or railed toilets. There is no internet service.

Guests will be provided with the host's cell phone number, entry code and written directions approx 72 hours prior to check-in.

GPS system accuracy varies - written directions will be provided prior to check-in. Weather may impact the ability to transit the 1 mile long driveway in the winter. Due to the higher elevation, snow can accumulate on the driveway. Following winter precipitation, 4WD is a must. Be prepared to use 4WD and maintain slow, steady speed to transit the driveway. During heavy snow, the driveway may be impassable. Regardless of the season, please drive slowly up the gravel driveway at 10 mph or less to help keep the gravel in place. It takes a lot of work to keep it in shape and anything over 15 mph quickly causes erosion.
We also share the driveway with other residences - to include kids, so please do not speed on the driveway.

We have a max overnight guest limit of 5, no exceptions. If your total overnight guest count is more than 5, we kindly request you seek larger, more suitable accommodations elsewhere on Airbnb.

House Rule #1: Relax! This is a weekend getaway - leave your stress at work. Enjoy your time away, but please respect our home and treat it gently, as we want to be able to continue to share it with others and of course, continue to enjoy it for ourselves when possible.

This is a 100% non-smoking home. No exceptions! If you choose to smoke outside, please be courteous and dispose of all cigarette butts - the grounds are clean and we prefer to "nurture" nature by keeping the yard and surrounding woods butt free.

Pets: Although we generally have a no pets policy, justifiable exceptions may be granted on a case by case basis for one small pet under 25 lbs. Multiple pets not considered. Guests must pre-approve pets with the host prior to booking. An additional pet deposit will apply. Service dogs are always welcome free of charge.

Septic: The home is on a septic system and as such, cannot handle waste commonly disposed of in city sewer systems. Please do not flush anything down the toilets other than toilet paper (no feminine hygiene products, paper towels, gum, etc). Please use the in-sink kitchen garbage disposal only for vegetable matter and plate rinsing; please throw all meat scraps, eggshells and any non-organic matter in the garbage.

Trash Collection: There is no garbage service or trash collection. Please place bagged trash (no loose trash) in the outside garbage bin located next to the garage. We always appreciate guests who opt take their bagged trash to the dumpsters at the Murat collection center on their way back to town.

Guest Limit: 5 We kindly ask that if you are visiting relative such as students at VMI or W&L and expect them to stay overnight, that they are counted toward your 5 guest limit. No exceptions.

Sorry, no open fires on the property.

一部アメニティは最低限のものです (例: ネットが遅い) - Fireplace and garage not for guest use. No internet, although cell reception is available. No towed trailers up the 1 mile driveway, please.

The description is exactly right. If you're looking for an escape in an ideal location for great views, calmness, and any necessary amenities this is it. It is about a 15 minute drive to downtown Lexington if one is looking for tours, eateries, or just to walk around, but also far enough to feel completely separate from the normal hustle and bustle of daily life. The house is wonderful. Very clean, games for entertainment, a full kitchen, and deck for gazing at the view. We couldn't believe how quiet everything was when we sat outside. Many thanks to the owners for a great weekend.
Thanks for the great review. Come back anytime, you're always welcome!

Fantastic!! Beautiful home, spotlessly maintained!! Everything in the home is just as described, and just as you would expect it to be in your own home. Would highly recommend!
Thanks for the review, Laura, glad we could host your family this trip. Thanks for leaving the place so clean upon your departure - our cleaning lady remarked how clean it was when she went up to tidy things up. Please come back in the future!

Highly recommend this beautiful home. Views were spectacular! Can't wait to come back. Craig is a wonderful host!

The house is awesome. Had a great stay. We would stay.

Craig's home in Lexington VA was a great getaway from the usual suburban/city life. His home has an amazing view of the surrounding landscape and even though it is up on the mountain it is only a short drive from the historic town of Lexington. His home is extremely clean and well maintained. His home is well represented in his pictures and summary. His home is also filled with lots of memorabilia from past wars making it a great place to stay if your a history buff. I would definitely not have an issue staying at Craig's home again and would suggest it to anyone who is looking for somewhere to stay in the Lexington VA.
Thanks Yosmany. Sorry we were unable to meet face to face. Thank you for choosing our home for your visit and for being such a courteous guest. You are welcome back anytime.

There is not enough space to express all the positives about our host and this listing. The house was just as described and pictured. Very secluded area and the one neighbor we met was very a pleasant man. I think there are only four houses off the mile long driveway. What Craig failed to tell us was how absolutely beautiful the drive to the house was. The creek along the side of the road with wild flowers and just beautiful scenery the entire way. The house was in perfect order and I believe we were the first to have use of the new deck and outdoor dining furniture. The mountain view from the back deck was wonderful and we enjoyed our morning coffee there as well as eating lunch and dinner every day. My 4:00 p.m. wine time was celebrated on the deck every day. I was traveling with my 86 y/o mother and the handicap ramp at the front of the house was perfect for her as was the master bed and bath which is located downstairs. The upstairs bedroom w/bath was also very nice and the mattresses and bedding were all great. All furnishings were very comfortable and in good condition and the house well appointed. There was a nice big TV as well as many movies to choose from but I don't think we turned it on because we were enjoying the beautiful view. The kitchen is very well laid out. The kitchenware was good and I don't think we had a kitchen need that was not provided for. Even had a blender to make my mom margaritas. Craig had even left us fresh eggs from the girls up the hill, who came to visit us most every day. We hiked the creek side trails which lead down the mountain and saw wild turkeys and a deer. The creek made for many great photo opportunities. There are many fun things to do in the area, including Natural Bridge and Caverns and of course the entire area is perfect for any history buff like my husband who visited Washington and Lee school, Lee's Chapel and the cemetery. If I had to complain about anything it would be that I didn't get to stay at the house for the entire five days. We had too many activities scheduled (law school graduation in Lexington) and we just didn't get to enjoy the house enough. That of course, is on us and not the host whose #1 rule is just relax. If you're looking for seclusion, peace and quiet, don't hesitate to book this house.
Thanks for the wonderful review, Ellen. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you on a return trip to Lexington.
