When it comes to planning a short break the pressure is on. These days you've got to have "the best time ever" and just choosing a nice place and hoping for decent weather can be risky.
I'm a big fan of Airbnb. I particularly like it when a host has gone the extra mile to think of little touches that can transform a good stay into an amazing one. I've done those thoughtful touches for you, and that's a relief if you're planning a birthday or anniversary break.
These days we all lead such busy lives we don't have the time to plan all the little things that go into the perfect mini-break. It's the reason why Pea Cottage and Stamford Cider Huts have become so popular, irrespective of the weather.
Instead of arriving and thinking, "ok, now what do we do?" I've creative a collection of little touches and suggestions that will make the most of your stay.
These include a Prosecco Treasure Hunt, use of a tandem, an old fashioned record player, homemade cider, a choice of two walks and three hand-picked pubs to enjoy a memorable meal.
Whenever I go away on an Airbnb break, I like to meet the host briefly rather than engage in a 2-hour chat. It's not that I'm anti-social, but I'm on holiday with my partner, and we have so little time away it's a very precious commodity.
