Reef Break Retreat: What's Available
The Yurt is 24' in diameter and sleeps 8 people ( 2 double bed, one couch and a 3 futons). A tent trailer with a large double bed is also available for larger groups or kids. The yurt has full kitchen facilities including a large counter, sink, fridge, gas stove for cooking etc. A shower and toilet are situated next to the yurt in separate buildings.
The Cabana has two large counter bars overlooking the ocean with a large sink. This is an ideal place to relax at night and have cold drink, listen to music or the sound of the waves below.
A large heated Rotenburo (hot tub) is situated right in front of the yurt and next to the Cabana. Soak in hot water (or cool if you wish) and let the stress of city life drain away.
A natural brick BBQ and picnic table are available for people who want to have a BBQ. The local market is walking distance with nice fish and meats. There are also several excellent restaurants within walking distance.
Massage and Acupuncture Therapy
A professional Massage and Acupuncture therapist is available for acupuncture or massage therapy (Oil Massage, Thai Massage )
A professional Yoga teacher can also be reserved ahead. The peaceful, relaxing environment of the yurt is an ideal setting for a Yoga session.
Pick up from Ohara station available (500 yen per trip).
Included are towels, shampoo/rinse, hand and body soap, dish-washing liquid, hand lotion, hairdryer, umbrellas, toilet paper, tissues, complimentary slippers and flip-flops, and a guide map showing local restaurants.
The kitchen facilities include a gas stove, microwave, coffee maker, hot plates, a rotisserie etc. Tea and instant coffee are provided (but if you want ground coffee please bring it). There is a good supermarket near by where you can buy meat, fish, milk, beer/wine etc. We provide wood and charcoal for the BBQ.
If it’s raining you may be confined to the yurt so bring books, games, DVD’s and CD’s (although a good selection are provided), iPod, etc. There is free Wifi.
We meet the guests upon arrival and walk them through the place, including the yurt and fire-pit, how to use the Hot-tub, BBQ and wood-stove etc.. This takes about 30 minutes. We live near by so if there are any problems, they can give us a call and we'll quickly respond.
We do have bicycles for rent (500 yen per day). The Hot-tub is 500 yen per person per fill (one fill is generally good for 2 nights) and the BBQ is 500 yen per use (to cover the cost of charcoal and wood). The Fire-pit is 500 yen (It's a lot of work and wood! ). Massage and Yoga sessions can be arranged prior to arrival. These extras can be paid upon check-out. Also, our policy regarding children is that ONE child under 6 years old is free. Pets are an additional 2,000 yen per day. If you are bringing a pet, please let us know.
Please arrive on time. Check in time is 2:00 PM and we expect visitors to arrive at that time (but please don't arrive early as we need to prepare). If you are going to be late, please let us know well in advance so that we can also plan our day.
If you bring your children, please supervise and watch them carefully at all times. There are cliffs and other hazards around the property.
So PLEASE be a responsible parent.
