We have a large house with stunning views over the Hope Valley in Derbyshire's beautiful Peak District - ideal for walkers, climbers, cyclists or those who just want a base from which to visit the many local attractions. There are 3 rooms available.
The house is large and situated close to the Millstone Pub which serves reasonably priced, good quality meals.
There are 3 rooms available - this twin-bedded room, with its own large separate bathroom with bath, shower and toilet, a large double bedroom with a kingsize bed and en suite shower-room; and a single room. If you want to book more than one room, then please refer to our other listings 'Large double/twin room in Peak District' and 'Single room in Peak District'. There is also a blow-up single mattress (for an additional £10 per night) that will fit into the large double room or the single room, and a baby's travel cot (no charge, please bring own bedding for the cot). Tea and coffee making facilities are provided in each bedroom.
A light optional breakfast can be provided comprising fruit juice, cereal and bread/toast with spreads, tea and coffee. The Millstone pub (2 mins walk away) provides an excellent full English breakfast for those who would like a more substantial start to the day.
Bedding will be fresh but due to my lack of skill may not be professionally ironed.
There is a small sitting-room with TV and DVD player, a south-west facing large conservatory, with stunning views over the valley, and large garden, all available for guests to use. There is also a utility room, for leaving boots and drying wet clothes, and a microwave which guests are welcome to use. The kitchen is not available for cooking.
The house is built on a hill and is not suitable for anyone who cannot manage steps.
Our postcode covers a number of properties so please contact for directions.
Minimum 2 nights.
Please note that I do not allow pets as I am allergic to animal fur.
No smoking within the house and please leave muddy boots in the utility room. Quiet after 11 p.m. please.
I can offer advice on local amenities and local walks. I live at the property and am usually there.
I am a retired consultant engineer who moved to the Peak District several years ago for the walking/views. I play bridge and live in a big house just outside the lovely village of Hathersage.
