Great place! The villa is wonderfully spacious and is ideally located just outside of Soufriere. The views are spectacular, as everybody has already commented. We could not have chosen a better place during our time in St. Lucia.

We had a great stay at Simon's place. Coffee and omelettes on the balcony with an amazing view of Gros Piton and ocean in the background were just what we needed to wake up in the mornings. Sunset views in the evening and the quiet surrounding of nature's sounds made for great conversations and restful sleep at night. I would highly recommend renting a car if you want to stay here, unless you arrange with Simon to host your trips around the touristy island too. Thanks Simon, we had a great time.
Hi Piet simon says thanks for taking the time out to write this wonderful Reviews. Yes definitely next time we will catch up and to get to no each other batter once again thank you!

Une famille avec enfants, ce n'est pas à conseiller pour toutes les raisons énuméré ci-haut
Hello When we ask you if everything is okay your respond was "everything was fine we love the place" ok with the little that you pay you do not expect to get air condition in every room. Yes we have air condition in 1 room and a fan in the other room as well as the living room we never had any complain with previous guest but you. I believe if you wanted so much you could have stayed at Jade Mountain. You also said how big the place was compared to the previous place up north of the island where you stayed before. You couldn't get over how big the villa is..so I don't see your point. First and for most we did offer you transportation to the villa which you declined and find your own way over, the driver you took dropped you off half way and so upon arrival I offered you complimentary drink which is our local Rum punch which you enjoyed very much. I also pointed a few sports to visit and what to do You did not make 1 move the whole day you arrived you stayed in and relaxed so I do not understand what you mean by You was pressured. It was your wish to take the local bus around which you did ok? the bus stop is just 2 minutes from the villa so what isolated are you talking about? it looked like you wanted things your way and you did. All the main attractions is just 5-10 minutes away from the villa so it seems that you just want to give a bad impression about my villa also you could not decide on things you wanted to do because you gave a number of local bus drivers information about taking you around and end up not using them for any services. Several of them came up to the villa asking about you which I find was very ungrateful of you to do such.

Simons villa is beautiful. The location is on a busy street with a VERY steep driveway that you have to climb if you walk any where. You can take local busses by walking up the street and catching one for a pretty decent value. Cab rides are pretty pricey, even for a short distance you will pay 15 USD. It is a good value. Things to know, the washing machine comes with a cost of an extra 10 USD. The AC is only in the master bedroom, and is not adjustable, its either ON or OFF. So you are either HOT or FROZEN. To make it worse, the beds did not have blankets, so we were frozen without any blankets to cover with. The water is not safe to drink in Saint Lucia, so on arrival we had to head out to the local market and buy water. It would have been nice if they had just one bottle to get us started. Its deffinetly not a resort, so you are without some amenities, so go into it knowing that you will have to stop by a market for food/coffee/water items. Simon has a tour company as well "Simon Says" and we did pay him to take us on a tour. He takes care of everything, but will charge you 3-4x the cost of the activities alone. If you have your own car, its better to just take yourself to these places. If you have to take a taxi, that will be expensive too.
Hello Leslie first of all the villa is (not on a busy street) its off the main road not because you walk the main road to complain .we have had many guest and walk this same road and never complain OK! yes we have air condition in one room and have a fun in the other room. from the time this villa is in operation all of our guest never complain but you that spend just 2 nights had so much to say. the villa has everything to make one feel home away from home i guess you can please some people some times but you cant please all the people all the time no matter how much you try.the AC do have a remote control for your information but because of poor communication from you. you didn't fine it and we all provide blankets that is the very first time that we tried a stay without the blanket because most people don't use them and saying it's to worm for that so here we go again and yes you are the first to complain about my price let me tell you everything comes with a price. well what can i say but good luck to you.

The Grand View Villa & their hosts, Simon and Marina, warmly welcomed us with two cold Pitons (beers) with a view between the Pitons. We rented a jeep thru a local island agency that Simon recommended, Island Time. Cornell from Island Time met us at the airport and we followed him to Choiseul where we met Simon. *** If you can, rent a jeep. It is definitely needed to get up the very steep driveway.*** The Grand View Villa was the perfect place to rest after a day of snorkeling at Anse Chastanet or climbing the Gros Piton. The nights are breezy especially on the balcony and if you open up the double doors, you will have a few unexpected guests. :)

I stayed at the Grand View Villa with a friend for our girl's trip. It was the perfect location to use as a base to see the island. The house has a wonderful view of the sea and surrounding areas. It was very clean and is as stated in the description. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms with showers, a full kitchen (no microwave), sitting area, dining area and the amazing deck. We loved sitting out on the deck relaxing anytime we were there (which wasn't much, since we were often out exploring the island). There is wifi and an electrical adapter for those of us from the US. You will need to rent a car and as others have stated, get a 4x4. Some of the best beaches are down very rough dirt roads and the road into the Villa is steep! As Simon mentions, he is the owner of Simon Says Tours and everyone in town knows him. We coordinated a snorkling tour and a hike of the Gros Piton with him and had a great time on both tours. Simon and his wife Marina are very welcoming and helpful and I highly recommend the Grand View Villa to everyone and I would not hesitate to stay there again. As a side note, you cannot drink the water on St. Lucia (the locals don't either) so you will be buying a lot of bottled water. We did wash dishes and brush our teeth with the water from the tap, but that was it.
HI: Michel it was a pleasure having you and your friend. however i must say that we did provide two microwave in the villa , and previous persons have broke the plates for them. here's the reason why presently we do not have one.

Simon's place is in a great location. Simon was kind enough to meet us in Victoria so that we wouldn't get lost looking for the villa. The villa itself is on a steep hill that requires a sturdy vehicle, but the view is really great. Simon welcomed us with a Piton beer and homemade spiced rum. The place is as described and suited our needs. We were able to do all that we wanted in Soufriere and had easy access to all our planned outings from the villa.

Welcome! I am Simon Jean, and my wife marina jean popularly known as 'Simon Says.' My passion for taking visitors around started from a very early age. It sprang from my desire to help visitors who would get lost in my home town, Soufriere, trying to locate one of the several local tourism sites and attractions or wanted to glean some information about the town or a local tour guide to take them around. I also dream of someday of opening my own tour operation business. I brought this passion with me when I obtained my first job as an official tour guide with the St Lucia Tourist Board at the Sulphur springs park- also known as the drive in volcano – I got the nick name 'Simon Says' from my enthusiasm and fun-filled interactions with the many visitors I meet at the park. I have over 20 years of experience in the in local St Lucia tourism industry working in different capacity. I now humbly submit myself to you in your quest to unlock the hidden treasure of St Lucia, and to have enjoyable and meaningful visit.
