Welcome to our beautiful Victorian home with your private bed and bath! Features a chef's dream kitchen, laundry, garden, and shared living room with internet & TV. Explore Oakland by walking to great food/bars, or it's only a 12min BART ride to San Francisco.
Built during the Gold Rush boom in 1868, our home is one of the oldest in Oakland. Includes new and comfortable bedding on a double-size bed, a private clawfoot tub/shower, hardwood floors, fully-stocked kitchen (Wedgewood stove, dishwasher, washer/dryer), and a very friendly cat! At the intersection of Chinatown/Downtown/Old Oakland, it has great walkability, and we have recommendations on the best spots.
* High speed internet and TV (no cable, but Netflix and Hulu).
* Use of a guest monitor, keyboard, mouse.
* High end washer and dryer in the kitchen.
* Kitchen with all kitchen utensils, cooking supplies, and staple ingredients.
As much or as little as you'd like; you're sharing the house with a couple, Zack and Kristen, who both work in downtown San Francisco during the day, but are often around at night.
We've both lived in Oakland and San Francisco for many years, and are glad to give recommendations for things to see, eat, or do in the area (or where to live!).
There is a very friendly large cat. She is not allowed in the guest bedroom, however if you're very allergic this may not be the house for you.
Your bathroom is on the first floor, off of the kitchen, while your bedroom is on the second floor.
We're excited to make your visit go great, and looking forward to helping you have a perfect stay.
Just the golden rule; please use the house fully, but treat it well!
Please don't let our cat outside or in your room.
There is no smoking indoors.
Check-out is 11 AM unless otherwise discussed; you're welcome to leave your luggage for the day.
Check-in is between 5:30 and 10 PM but can be earlier (or later) by prior discussion -- we just have to coordinate a time.
I'm a Bay Area native and along with my wife, Kristen, host in a house we own in Oakland. We love exploring the outdoors (hiking, biking, skiing), cooking, and enjoying the restaurants and events that make the Bay Area unique.
